He's fantastic at centre back obviously.. But sometimes I watch him burn up the pitch with ball at his feet.. And I sometimes think.. Do we have potentially the best left back/left wing back in europe, and are settling for having a top 5 centre back in the Premier League.

Either way, it doesn't really matter.. that's small print. He's great.
It's a very different skillset to ask him to collect the ball with his back to the touchline and a defender tight to him and try to go 1v1. There you generally need more technical skill than simply raw power.

He just needs to be encouraged to drive forward more often like this. Frank needs to implement this into our system.

In the worst case someone needs to hack him down and will pick up yellows.

He's 24.5, at this age Bale was already in Madrid. He's not becoming a fulltime LB or the next Bale.

Just a physically gifted CB that can do a little bit of everything, even though the fact that it's his athleticism that gives him the edge over most players in his position could be a cause for concern eventually. Too early though.

I have to admit that I was disappointed over his behaviour on Saturday, but that goal made up for it. Sensational from start to finish. Worth the (extortionate) entrance money.

Both him AND Spence showed how you make it up to a crowd .... Mickey more so, obviously, but Spence played his part when he came on.

Richie on the other hand gave a majestic example of how NOT to endear yourself to the home crowd!

A lot of comparisons to Son because of where the run started, but the speed, acceleration, running style, and left foot thunderous finish reminded me so much of Bale against Inter.
