Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's on around £50k a week, he will have many suitors, problem for him is that his contract ends in 2029 so he's either gonna have to force his way out (he won't) or sit on the same wage for the next few years (not happening)

Anyway doubt he fucks off just yet because no-one's gonna be able to afford him, same reason why Romero ended up staying.

Good riddance to Van Der Ven or any player that flirts for a move. Not a concern.

He is one of the group who fail to deliver each game, and it's contemptible that he would talk to anyone after his painfully poor performance yesterday.

He has the World Cup in the summer. Hopefully he plays well enough for us to get a huge fee for him, but he is not as good as he or some on here think.

Not yet at least.

Harry Maguire and Shesko.

Good player, elegant and dynamic on his day and has a belter of a shot on him.

That being said (and I've gotten pelters for this before), I still don't rate him as a reliable CB. The fundamentals of a top-tier defender (reading the game, positioning, anticipation) aren't really there, and don't seem to have gotten much better. For someone of his size, he offers surprisingly little physicality and presence in the air too.

He's lucky to have supreme speed, as it's no surprise that he's so often making pacy (and often very good) last-ditch tackles as a result.

Perhaps an unfair comparison, but he doesn't hold a candle to Verts. A much more versatile and defensively astute attack-minded CB who also played at LB (which is where Micky should be imo).

If a big offer comes in the summer, we should seriously consider it.

He spole highlyof Ange, they really believed in him. It’s amazing job to have players believe snd trust you that much even though the team isn’t performing.

Then he is a fcuking clown. .

Believe in a manager who presides over such crap as we saw for large chunks of last season. What that says about Van Der Ven and the other players one dreads to think.

These players haven't worked under a really competent PL manager as yet.

Once they do they will realise Postecoglou was a sound-bites manager and Frank a manager out of his depth for a club of our size.

It's also clear he has little or no respect for Frank, and that's a problem.

And any dimwits who start saying it's the club as opposed to the players, they can do one.

You could see that during the parade.

Think that's a big part of Frank's problems, he isn't Ange, he doesn't have ange's charisma or way with people so I don't think they respect him much especially with the football he coaches.

If Frank had the stones then he'd drop 4 or 5 senior players for kids or fringe players to stamp his authority

Been saying the same thing.

Drop Porro, Spence, Romero, Micky, Bentancur and Vicario even if it’s just for a game or two and watch them buck their ideas up.

It’s a World Cup year. The ultimate currency for these fucks. They won’t want to risk their starting/squad spots.

Micky van de Ven says him and Romero asked Postecoglou to make tactical changes. “At one point, we just walked up to the gaffer and said that we need to change some things and play more defensive sometimes. We played away at Frankfurt and were 1-0 up, and we can’t keep attacking, we just need to come back and have a low block and make sure we get the three points. “We sat with him and he agreed with us on some things and he told us that he expected us two guys to sort this on the pitch – to make sure that this is something everybody knows and to speak to everybody on the pitch.“He said to me and Cuti personally that we need to make sure the other guys listen to us, that we have a reputation in the team and everyone respects us, so make sure the guys follow what we say on the pitch. So, Cuti and I were just screaming at everyone.”

Pretty damning of Postecoglou, isnt it?
