Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That's your take

Any manager worth their salt (salary) would tell Van De Ven to do his talking on the pitch.

Then if they viewed his actions and attitude counter-productive, as I do, then they would sell him.

He is way too arrogant

It is shameful that the players who got into it with the supporters have not been fined by the club.

The supporters are not professionals. Some are 'fanatics' by definition.

The players are supposed to be professionals.

The supporters anger, regarding results and performances, is actually correct.

The players, some of whom are failing on the pitch, rebuking supporters, for showing passion and pride that is often missing on the pitch, is a fucking disgrace.

It's persoanal now for me.

I want Frank, Porro and Vicario shitcanned for their observations and reaction to supporter criticism.

Mickey lets his football do the talking and has been set an absolutely shit example by the three people I have mentioned.

He was foolish to follow their poor example.

If his heart isn't there to play for this club, despite how tough circumstances get, he can move on.

Micky has performed exceptionally this season, but as other posters has said, hes been petulant and slightly disrespectful to Frank and now the fans.

Honestly, whatever you think of booing your own team.. You'd think Spurs fans were the only ones to do it., We aren't.. It's modern football culture nowadays for the crowd to reflexively boo their team at the end of a defeat. I maybe don't like how ubiquitious it is. But it's how it is.

Crystal Palace supporters.. Who are seeing the most glorious period in their history, have booed at the end of a home defeat. I see no other premier league teams in revolt against their own fans.. They just get on with it..

So when we see a Spurs team who for the last 14 months at least has been the worst performing Spurs side in many of our living memories.. Booing, in the modern football climate cannot be a shock to them. Surely.
You are spot on something has happened here and I think it is no coincidence that Son Heung Min left and took his discipline humility kindness and loyalty with him. Then Frank in the most ill considered choice ever put a violent erratic man child as the senior voice and suddenly players like Spence who would physically defend Postecoglou a bloke who barely played him, and VDV suddenly has a planet sized ego.

This is Frank bullies have smelt his weakness, came in picked a fight with Bissouma who is Jimmy Cranky levels of challenge with his history and brain of a rocking horse. This probably is not retrieveable under this coach witn these players.

Yeah I think we'll be a selling club now with no ambition whatsoever
It's such a lazy argument isn't it.

Every time a top player shows signs of frustration or disgruntlement..

"meh..sell 'im if he dont wonna be 'ere
"No player is bigger than the club bwah"
"Only wont players who wanne play for the badge blah blah"

how about the club starts to address the fucking issues that causes their disenchantment.

Then we might start fucking getting somewhere rather than going round and round in circles.

And the solution to this mess could be years away - ENIC selling

Sacking Lange, Paratici and maybe Frank would help though.

I know you can't take his pace away but if you did he would be John Scales...
When he arrived from Germany their press were saying his big fault is that he’s not good in the air, which he isn’t. He’s not that good one to one either unless he can use his pace. I’m afraid both our centre backs are overrated. Romero banned from another game by the FA and my first thought was…..who cares.

VDV is definitely overrated. I'm hugely guilty of that myself.

But his size, physique, and speed allows him to get away with it to a degree. But he's still young for a CB, and with competent coaching and surrounded by better players I think he's got ample scope and time to grow into an outstanding CB.

Hasn’t really played at the top level that long either , definitely still room for improvement.
Ideally could do with signing a Naybet type of player with experience to play alongside him to help him even more like we did with Ledley

we are at a crossroads, i can only see a takeover saving us from this point, we are becoming everton fast
I think more and more fans are coming to the conclusion that this is the only way. It has to happen.

Fan disenchantment is growing by the week. The club are struggling to sell tickets for even the biggest games and forced to put them on general sale

Although empty seats may not hit them financially, the damage to the "brand" certainly will

Surely, sooner rather than later, the Lewis cartel will realise it's time to cash in their chips because the longer this decline continues, the less appealing we'll become to any potential buyers

The problem with “sell Romero and Mickey now and start over” is that we’ll be playing in the Championship next year if we do.
Apropos, today I've seen this item - it would appear relegation is an extremely remote possibility no matter how much worse it gets.

VDV is our best player by a mile and has spirit and motivation
He knows exactly what's going on behind the scenes
Is it then surprising he reacts the way he has?
