You could see that during the parade.

Think that's a big part of Frank's problems, he isn't Ange, he doesn't have ange's charisma or way with people so I don't think they respect him much especially with the football he coaches.

If Frank had the stones then he'd drop 4 or 5 senior players for kids or fringe players to stamp his authority
He's been nice because he's just gotten here and hasn't wanted to rock the boat too much, but I think this is coming.

With players back and, hopefully, some decent players in in the window, we might see him begin to get the Franking machine out to stamp that authority from January onwards, looking towards the summer window and who he wants out.

There are probably lingering effects of Postecoglou's relationship with the current players. Everything with him centered around self-promotion. It wasn't about Spurs, everything was about him and his system. I think his personality and the promise of freedom to go forward without working hard on defense was attractive to young players who may not know what it takes to win at the Premier League level. Some of the players may blame fans, the media, and the team for sacking a guy whose motivational spiel and tactics they bought into. Imagine trying to come after a guy like that, especially since they have a trophy some may see as an all purpose excuse. It's going to take time to straighten out the whole "Big Ange" mess.
Bingo.

Best post on this managerial transition, yet.

People aren't even watching the whole video and took that bit out of context to fit into one's own narrative. Look at VdV's endearing eyes when he spoke about Ange.

Then compared to this:

One wonders why this group of trophy winners aren't taking it upon themselves to take matters into their own hands and win games in spite of Frank's tactics.

This part of the interview (specifically about the final) is after he said he and Cuti approached Ange before to play more pragmatically (Before Frankfurt).

This is Ange implementing Micky and Cuti's suggestion.

Well sure but with everyone putting their own ridiculous spin on things it's always better just to hear from the horse's mouth:

What I see is a player working with a flawed manager - but a manager that made him believe. Who took on board feedback at exactly the right time.

Buy -In is everything in team sports. More important than just about anything. Pochettino managed it for 4 1/2 years; Conte for 6 months. This guy believed and we have a trophy to show for it.

You really really notice the lack of buy in when its absent.

well it looks like hes defo getting the jan window, so he needs to make that count, summer isnt promised to him unless he can turn results and performances around.

keep playing shit like vicario and bentancur and he doesnt deserve the summer anyway, and he wont be getting it.

I think luck played more into it than that . If that was the case Forest should've been all in on Ange lol.
It was the first year where a UCL team does not drop off, also somehow we got ManU who was just as bad as us.

Of course luck played into it. Unless you're the Oil Slavers any trophy requires a modicum of luck.

It's Buy-In. It's belief. Despite everything. That's what we've lacked for decades - what we've been crying out for. Poch got us close but at the final moment luck (in the form of a ref and a handball decision) was not there for us. And that team was light years ahead of what we have now.

And people keep talking about the low quality of the EL. Sure. But WE ARE LOW QUALITY. I mean... isn't that fucking glaringly obvious to everyone except the Derangers who promised everyone "any half-decent manager would fix everything".

Belief and Buy-In is everything in team sports. |How anyone can look at this video of VDV and not realise that simply has no understanding of sport psychology whatsoever...

The fact that we were (are) a shit team, coached by a deeply flawed manager makes that EL Trophy even more incredibly sweet. That joy you see in VDV's eyes and tone when he talks about it - that's what it's all about.

Why on earth some fans choose to diminish that is so utterly insane. Especially, of all fan bases, Spurs fans. Literally deranged :D .

I wish I could bottle that look in VDV's eyes and inject it into every player before a match.

So you want Ange back then? You think Frank can't do that? I mean its his first season and we only reached half way so how the hell would you know? I mean it took Ange 2 years and near relegation to win a Europa..

You say low quality and a deeply flawed manager, really? is he more flawed than Ange? Didn't Frank have 5 successful years with a subpar (Worse than ours for sure) team as a manager in the EPL?

Fans like you who panic is the problem. Most fans here are fucking insecure and have zero patience. Wait and see, give him a full year atleast and start whining.

Good luck getting 100m on a center back. If we miss Europe, we aren't going to have too much leverage without upsetting the player.
He will be the first. No centreback has the talent he does right now. He is the fastest CB I have ever seen, also tall and very physical and has a knack for goals too. Seems captain material and is only 24. I mean Gvardiol went for 90m...VDV is well worth 100m if big clubs are fighting to get him.

No.

I'm Frank in.

The rest of your post is panicked fucking drivel because you don't ever bother to read or comprehend what people actually say/write as opposed to the febrile shit your deranged mind makes up.

If you'd bothered to comprehend anything I've said in the last year you'd know I have no problem with Ange being sacked; no problem with Frank being hired and more than most have warned about the difficulties Frank (or any new manager) will have to face.

And I've been proved right over and over and over again.

The difference between us is that I celebrate the Ange years despite all the flaws.

And because I can do that, I've completely moved on. Unlike fucking Derangers.

Maybe. And he is certainly the flashiest CB out there because of the pace.

He's yet to play on a dominant defensive team, though. I realize one player can only do so much, but the most important thing for a CB is defending. And his defending is ok, but not elite.

I do think he'd be immense on teams that want to dominate with press and a high line. His pace allows the rest of the team to press with less risk because he basically nullifies any threats in behind, no matter how fast the opponent is.
