I think you're getting carried away with this mate.
There's so much fake shite on the internet that people could spend all day denying stuff and I doubt he's even aware of it personally.

It's not really on him to deny fake quotes, it's down to the reader to be wise about what they believe and how they react.
People are getting angry about this for no other reason than they're currently pissed off with him and that's overriding common sense.

Liverpool are hilarious if they think he'll replace VVD. He's not half the player defensively. All he has going for him is pace. He's not bad in duels and sliding tackles, but in terms of ALL the other attributes you want from a top CB, he's badly lacking. Remember, the best CBs rarely go to ground. VDV does it constantly.

The only reason he's so hyped is because of his insane pace and that goal. Nobody who watches him week in week out would be excited if he joined their club in terms of improving them defensively.

Just look at the scums CBs. They are pure defenders. Saliba is twice VDVs ability defensively and younger.

Maybe VDV will go on to become world class at another club, but to me he's gone missing way too often and just has been nowhere near good enough this season. I watch him and I just don't see a top defender outside of his physical attributes.

I think he'd be a very good left back, the Netherlands have sussed it, and sussed it early.

Hopefully Liverpool do sell the farm for him. He wouldn't make them any better like. Neutral fans think he's class because they see the highlights, but the fundamentals are not good. His positioning is atrocious which is why, as you say he's always on the ground. He's like early years Kyle Walker in that respect, his pace bails him out of all sorts of trouble. For all his nonsense, Romero is a way better player than him, when he's not baby sitting Micky, we may as well play with no defenders because we conceded a ridiculous amount of goals.
The both need to go in the summer, or if Cuti does stay, which I very doubt, put an actual defender that sits beside him and we'll be a much better side.

His positioning is really poor. You rarely see the best CBs having to sprint or slide in.

I don't think we will sell both this summer. Maybe we will if we go down but I just think one of them will be forced to stay unless it's true that they are stinking the place out attitude wise behind the scenes.

There was a goal like that by Villa under Frank where they literally just passed the ball through the middle of us way too easily. Tbh it might even be a carbon copy because we had 5 at the back that day. Even if we had 4, the same thing happened, with 1 pass cutting through 2 lines and a 1-2 later and they scored.
