Player Mikey Moore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He can't add pace, he either has it or he doesn't and it's clear at senior level he doesn't. However he is very intelligent and moves well.

Harry Kane was accused of being slow when young

He became quicker through a variety of changes - for example a running coach changed his running style (there are even professional 'gait analysts') , he increased his body strength, and even changed his breathing to get more oxygen into his body at the right times - all of which helped made him faster, better acceleration etc.

Harry has never been very fast but he became a lot faster than when 18, and I suspect Mikey will be advised on ways to increase his speed.

And the other way, which Mikey already has to some extent, is speed of thought and knowing where everyone else on the pitch is etc - Sherringham was never fast but his speed of thought allowed him to start running before other players had worked out what to do.

If Moore reaches Grealish's peak (record English transfer, first choice at a CL winner), that will be quite a career.
Grealish!!. Do me a favour. Just cos someone is thick enough to pay 100m doesn’t mean you are a great player, yes Declan, you as well.
Moore is on track to surpass the pair of them with ease. He is obviously a top player who will just get better and better.
Djimi Traore was first choice for Liverpool in a champ lge final and won, but he was probably the worst left back they ever had.

More often than not the quickest players do not have the brains to go with it. Quickness of thought is prob more important. Would like to see Mikey up against Trent next week for the last 20 mins, hoping we are still in the game.
He is no doubt our best 17yr old since Hoddle.

And by the time that their "football brain" catches up they've started slowing down due to age.

Mikey isn’t as slow as Kane, even Kane at his peak, he just isn’t explosive fast yet but even Messi at 17 didn’t have that much, wasn’t till around 19 when it kicked in. You get freaks like Rooney and Lamal who clearly went through puberty early but Moore is about as much as most 17 year olds will be.

Moore’s movement and running style reminds me a bit of kvaratskhelia, turns and swivels really well. Will need time to get the extra core strength and more explosive elements older players have.

Because he was and is slow, though deceptively quick in small areas.

Mikey looks pretty rapid to me, no comparison between the two.

They both look like a parody of an English person, so certain stereotypes come along, that's what's really being discussed here.

Sherringham was never fast but his speed of thought allowed him to start running before other players had worked out what to do.
As they say in Amurrican Football, the player who hesitates is the slowest player on the field.

He will definitely get quicker than he currently is I don't know what people are talking about. He hasn't stopped growing. Taller longer stride even tiny increments make a diffrent he will get stronger core and more power he'll be really decent if he avoids hamstring tears....

Some of this is due to circumstances yes but the fact at only 17 he is starting games for us, not going on loan like almost every other player who has come out of our academy speaks volumes.

All this talk of pace.. It's not the be all and end all in his position. What's more important is ACCELERATION or in other words turn of pace. The ability to go from standing still to reacting quicker than the defender and Mickey Moore has that. Messi for instance has never had an amazing top speed but his acceleration sets him apart.

Messi was fast as fuck dude.

Mikey is also fast.

And both of them are fast WITH THE BALL which is critical for an attacking player.

Used the comparison before, but again, he is like Gazza. Elite technique, able to dribble at pace and simultaneously see movements and angles 99.999% of players can’t.

Also has that thick set, barrel chest to hold off players.

Moore is already breaking records!

He's the youngest English Scorer in Europe, which was held by another Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves.

His goal was class & it was a great to see it in person!

I can see him being an amazing international when that knock comes to the door!

Wait What - at 17 you can't add pace in his future?!?!?

Have you ever or anyone in your family or friends ever played a sport based on running??? You understand how training improves traits right??? these things just don't come from nowhere...

He's 17 - You know Usian Bolt who holds the world record for the 100metres reached that at 22yrs old...

I honestly cannot come to terms with that statement, I'm actually flabbergasted...
