Player Mikey Moore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Think we are seeing that this lad is a long way off
needs to get 10-15 mins at the end of games (next season) gives him a chance to get into mens football
really hope that new manager & acadmey manager start getting lads that need & can play mens football out on laon
Look at how Donley looks now, hope he gets Championship team next season so he can get 60/70 mins every game
You need to introduce youth in a team that's working and organised. We are not that

He's nowhere near ready to play regularly in the PL. That's the case for all the young players in our squad except for Bergvall.

We won't have Europa League next season, it will either be CL or nothing, so lads like Moore will need a loan move if they are going to develop.

Ange has set him back a bit this season, the lad has talent but it’s obvious the PL is a step to far for now , should have been sent out on loan to be playing regularly.
He needs a loan next season , the kid is still only 17 and barring being born a genetic freak , men’s football is not for 17 year olds, still I will die on the hill that there is a player there and in a few years time I just hope he is still with us.

Ange has shit loads to answer for but “set Moore back” is not one of them.

Moore was far from our worst player yesterday. His issue which has been evident the whole season is physicality, he is still very much a teenager.

Cast your mind back to youth, I know that is hard for a lot of this forum. We all knew a Rooney or Yamal type at school, a 15 year old strong and quick enough to play with men. Puberty happens at different rates. Moore in the U18 was perhaps the best kid in the country, his skill and brains superior to those around him, I saw some of the U18 England games and Spurs games, he was clearly a better player than Nwaneri for example at youth level.

But and it’s a big but he still look and moves like a kid, we need 19 year old Mikey Moore not this 17 year old version. The core strength and explosiveness most people get around 18-21 isn’t with him yet and that limits his game. You can clearly see particularly in his earlier appearances with his dribbles and crosses he is a good decision maker and technical player which is the most vital ingredient of a top footballer but until he can match the physicality of the league he will be limited.

Combine that with playing RW instead of LW or number 10 which is his main positions and the mess of the team it’s not an environment you are going to be at your best. 17 is very young, we can’t expect a 17 year old to elevate us that much, main thing is we retain a top talent and develop him properly into the player he can be/

I haven't seen anything so far to suggest that he is ready to start games or do anything close to 90 mins, from either the physical or football perspective.

The Europa game where he did well, he had 45 anonymous minutes, then 15 bright ones, then died off. The one where he scored I thought overall he struggled a bit all game till the goal at the end. In the Prem he has struggled to do anything of real note.

There are mitigating circumstances - the state of the team as a whole, getting pushed out on the right hand side which clearly doesn't suit him, that he can go weeks/months without seeing involvement. But physically he is lacking, particularly in explosive power, and he's looked nowhere near a coherent and consistent 45 mins, let alone 90 mins, yet.

He's 17 though. Lets give him some room to breath. Fans should cool the wonderkid hype, and the club should probably be a bit more sensible in that a) use him in his best position(s) and b) regular short minutes to drip feed him into first team action.

He looks like he'll be a slower more technical dribbler. Grealish has been mentioned, which isn't the worst comparison. Think Moore does need to focus a lot on being really strong in ball retention aspects as he develops.

Send him out on loan to a decent Bundesliga outfit like Stuttgart, Eintracht, Freiburg, maybe even Leverkusen. He'd play decent minutes most week, in a very attack-minded league, also getting European games under his belt, would develop physically and mentally...

Get him back after a year and notice the difference.

With CL ball and pot 1 seeding we should have some games and minutes for him after all this next season. I sort of expect us to keep Son, but hopefully we can get at least 1 more top winger in to aid the attack. Moore behind them all as 4th choice wing with Kulu playing more centrally in rotation with Maddison would be good..

We won't be pot 1, we'll probably be in 3, maybe 2 depending on other teams.
