I don't know if the history and culture can be overcome, but I think it'd be nice to see the SPL and Welsh/Northern Ireland leagues integrated into the EFL somehow. Celtic and Rangers I think risk becoming irrelevant without the TV money and competitive impulse of participating in a top level competition like the Premiership. I'd be very interested to see what both clubs could do, and if it could help invigorate the EPL even more with their inclusion. Celtic could become a very powerful club with Prem money and competitive impulse.

As for Moore though it's nice he gets to play some CL ball this way- Rangers probably wouldn't play CL for a very long time if they had to earn it through the EFL.
The Welsh have the best of both worlds. Cardiff, Wrexham and Swansea in English leagues and their own leagues and international teams.
Wimbledon wanted to relocate to Ireland.

There is no financial incentive for PL to want either club involved
If Celtic and Rangers were to take the place of the likes of Burnley, Saints, Ipswich, then I could see PL crowds going up for those matches. Old Firm will always sell out against English clubs for sure. I'd say that global TV audiences for them would increase too. If I was a Celtic fan in California, would I really get up early to watch them mash someone like Alloa or Falkirk? Might well do for a PL club. The OF diaspora around the planet is huge. Scots and Irish are huge all over the Anglophone world.

Anyway, can't see it happening - the likes of Burnley Saints etc would vote against it, as it would make it much harder to get into and stay in the PL which is where everyone in the champo wants to be. Prob also mean the Home Union FAs would only get one vote as an amalgamated British FA.

There's Rangers and Celtic supporter clubs in every major city in the colonised World where fans get together at all ungodly times of hours to watch their team, there's many more that watch it via RTV/CTV. Rangers' NARSA (North American Rangers Supporters Association) has an annual event that is attended by circa 10k people. There's an Oceana version that covers Australia, New Zealand and the Orient that attracts similar numbers.

Know I'm biased and all that but if Rangers and/or Celtic were to get access to the Premier League then it wouldn't be long until they'd have a global fan base that Man U and the like enjoy.

But it'll never happen because turkeys don't vote for Christmas, Rangers and Celtic joining the English leagues doesn't just push teams towards a relegation fight they might not have been involved in but it makes Europe more unachievable for those higher up the grid and ultimately means someone could lose out on a title.

I'd love it to happen, I've wanted a British league for years, teams like Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen etc are bigger than tonnes of sides who have played in the EPl in the past 30 years so it'd benefit them. Yeah silverware would be less likely but it's been almost 40 years since the SPFL hasn't been won by either Rangers or Celtic so what opportunities would they really be missing out on?

TNS went out at the first qualifying round of the Champions League against a team from Macedonia whose name translates literally as The Cakes. The Welsh system is not a huge feather in the cap to be honest.

Celtic and Rangers would take an absolute beating at first. Going from playing bums most weeks to playing genuine elite footballers would be extremely difficult for them. Looking at some of the teams they struggled against in recent years in Europe? They’d be looking at some cricket scores coming up against the usual suspects. Hell, I think they’d get battered by ‘smaller’ teams like Forest or Palace. And if they bought poorly I could see them, especially Rangers, becoming stuck in the Championship.

Saying all that, I honestly would like to see both in the Prem/English pyramid as a whole as I think it would either save Scottish football or at the least open it up for those left behind.

If they merge leagues then they would enforce a UK team. Wales would not allowed the set-up they have now if they didn't have it grandfathered in.

Its a non-starter

7 of the starting X1 who played against Alloa on Sunday have dropped out of starting X1, for the most part dropping to bench - including Mikey Moore.

That's a real shame as playing in europe was probably seen by Moore and Spurs as one of the attractions of Rangers over his other loaning club suiters.

Its a 2 legged match so would be good if he started 2nd leg next week

Gassama is trouble for the success of this project.

Right footed left winger like Mikey who has emerged as their undroppable attacking focal point.
Ya- I wish Mikey would have just gone somewhere he’d get consistent time no questions asked- nothing shameful about ripping up league 1 for half a season, or beating up on the champo- at least you’ve shown clearly u can do it.

Gassama has like 4 in 4 in qualifying, deserved to keep his place. Moore will break through there whether it's on the left or central.
And Gassama is another young player and a less-heralded new signing than Mikey that just happened to get there a couple weeks earlier.

Could have happened anywhere, just pure bad luck.

I have absolute belief and conviction that top players find their way through obstacles like this, that a random hot streak by some guy while Mikey ticks off the days for his 18th birthday to arrive can't alter his trajectory.

And yet....

If they get knocked out at this stage do they drop into the Europa?

Who agreed for him to go to gets?
Why didn’t we just keep him?
Im sure he’d have benefitted better from staying than going to rangers esp under Martin.
