A great test, but it just shows you.how unbelievably good the likes of Rooney and Owen were at a young age. Like men both of them.
If Moore has the talent, then time will allow his body to give him that aspect of confidence, to ride the battering he will receive.
It puts to bed, however, the nonsense of saying he was ready for PL football.
No rush, and as long as neither Moore or the club lose faith, he probably has 2/3 years in which to demonstrate he has what it takes.

A whole year is over already. Time really does fly.
Much as playing is the key element, how Moore processes what is going on, the challenges, the level he needs to attain, is every bit as important.
Why not wait.

Are we waiting for him to oust their new signing and arguably best player Gassama who plays in Mikey's strongest position, do we really think that any manager is going to put his welfare over the team and pick him over an already established players?

Exactly, if he's there to training what's the point? Keep him and he will be better training against Porro, Spence, Romero and Palhinha.
I think it's fine to send him out on loan but Rangers was the wrong club and I'm not even speaking in hindsight - they already signed a LW who happened to be good so it was pointless for Moore to there - he was never going to oust him.
And Scotland is a shit league anyway, better off going to the Championship or league 1.
I think everyone got out in front of their skis on Mikey (and Devine, et al). Scotland, Championship, League 1 - he's 18 and probably wasn't going to be first choice anywhere. Not for a club that intends to compete (Rangers surely intend to but its questionable if they will).
He's played 35% of the available league minutes for Rangers so far. That's probably what he'll play. 1200 league minutes at 18 will be better than the 200 he would have gotten here.
I'd rather he were loaned to a League One team that won promotion and then carried on with a loan there the next season in the champo. Nothing wrong with tearing up a bit of lower echelon oppo and gaining some confidence for the next step! Our loan moves have generally been bad and this one seems no different. I do appreciate what you say about him getting at least some minutes though- I suppose that's at least something for him.
I’ll be honest. When ever I’ve seen him I’ve never got the hype. I understand he is very young, but even against poor opponents and pre seasons I never got the vibe he has the potential to be a top premier league player, much the same as donley. Just doesn’t have that one trait (speed, explosiveness, ball control ability etc) that gives him that edge over other players.

To be fair despite his issues in the PL I don't think anyone could have foreseen Martin making such a sow's ear of the Rangers job this early into his tenure, and at least attempts to get his teams playing expansive attacking football, on the face of it had they not had a more senior, established player in his position it could have been a good fit. Looking more worthwhile to bring him back in Jan and shop him around the Championship relegation strugglers who need some attacking reinforcements for a 6 month loan and assess him at that level.
He had that one spell in a EL match when he really shone. I could be wrong but that might have been the time to start playing him - bringing him on with 20 mins to go.
Also scored another great EL goal.
