Think it's very normal for young talents to have a few years on loan, though.
Kane, Saliba, Mount, Gallagher, Rose, Walker...all players that had 2 or more years on loan early in their careers. And there are tons more.
You gotta be somewhat careful - Woolwich really pushed it by loaning Saliba 3 times as he was tearing it up in France I think he was close to leaving at one point - but a couple years on loan is healthy imo and shouldn't erode a player's relationship with the club. They typically come back for some or all of pre-season which helps keep the connection alive.
Having a player like Tel at the club but barely playing and missing out on a CL squad spot is far more damaging than a good loan. He seems far more pissed with the club than any of our loanees.
