So the club he's leaving Gangwon FC, if offering him English classes ....and not the club he's joining

But it may make more sense that way, as they can then align any classes according to his current schedule with the club. Unless they Gangwon FC gets a bonus according to how well Yang speaks English by the time he joins Spurs, what's Gangwon's benefits from doing that?
The faster he learns English the better for Spurs.
Perhaps the club paid them to do it as part of the deal, easier than searching online for an English tutor in Korea.
Doesn't he still have military service too?
Military service has to be started before age of 28 in South Korea - unless he becomes exempt.
So worry about that in 10 years time if he is not exempt
If he becomes a star; one would hope the same avenues that Sonny benefited from will open up.
Sonny benefited because South Korea won the Asian Games. It wasn't anything about his celebrity status since they have people way more popular than Son doing military service.
I thought the Asian Games 'pardon' was somehow a bi-product of him being such a big star that it suited the state to have him in the public eye.
You saying all players that won the AGs got/get the same break?

Think I read that. There's like a list not just football. Though most Korean's do some service it gets shorter if you win one of tournaments on that list.
