Just FYI, South Korea's flag literally has a Yin and Yang right in the middle of it...
Nah, that's just a subliminal PEPSI logo with stripes on!!

I know what you mean, and yes, it does definitely have a Yin/Yang symbol...

Maybe THEY stole the idea from the Chinese???

Or maybe, just MAYBE, they all have similar philosophies based on the same original beliefs??

I thought we were getting rid of Gil because his type doesn't belong in the premier league. From your description we've just signed the same player.
Gil’s highlights in Spain were of him being a very orthodox LW who rarely did any shooting. Dribble, Cross with the odd through ball

Yang is very different, stockier and is more of an all-round forward. He looks to have natural aggression and physicality, and he’s an excellent natural presser.

I guess the only worry is the pressure the kid will feel walking in Sonny’s footsteps. It’s probably bigger than we could imagine for a young South Korean,
Oh for sure.

We obviously talk about the pressure about succeeding Kane. But succeeding Son, as another South Korean prospect no less, will put just as much if not more weight on the poor kids shoulders.

Yeah, I'd LOVE to say that's a perfectly balanced opinion, but you do know that concept is from CHINESE philosophy, not Korean??

Jesus people, we're ALL as bad as eachother!!!

Maybe Bentancur saw this coming!!

The 3 criteria we are judging him on are:
Criteria 1: is he any good?
Criteria 2: How much did he cost?
Criteria 3: Where is he from?

There IS no criteria 3!!!9n
More than simply Chinese it comes from Confucianism which has been widely practiced in Korea since around the 4th century AD.

The groups of three lines around the ying-yang symbols are called "trigrams" and are the basis of the I-Ching, the oracle which dates back to China in the 9th-century BC and which had a significant influence on Confucianism.

I wonder how much influence Ange has in deals like Veliz, Bergvall, Gray, and now this lad, it says to me he's planning on sticking around at least for the next 3-4 seasons and seeing some of these guys blossom into elite young players in their early 20s? We saw exactly what Conte thought of "club" signings like Spence, but we've seen more of these types of deals by far under Ange than we did with Conte, maybe there is an acceptance by the club that unless we secure additional funding from investors as we are touted to be trying for then the best we can do is kick the can down the road another 3-4 years and hope we have a golden generation come through all at once. I'm not necessarily against that line of thinking, but for sure our next couple of moves need to be senior players that improve the first team, because CL qualification is there to be had next season with question marks over Liverpool and Chelsea under new management, Pep seeming to lose interest at City and their court case pending, United keeping Ten Hag and INEOS purchasing the minor stake are causing a lot of noise, if we are dining at the top end of the table you can see extensions for guys like Romero and VDV being much easier to sort out.

Is it right he's not actually gonna arrive until January?

If so, there's little point working out where he'll fit into the squad this season, 'cos in all likelihood, he probably won't...

But good to know for the future!

We all know WHY we're bringing him in, and if so, that's fair enough... 'cos if he's anywhere NEAR as effective for us as Sonny has been, then it will be a marketing strategy that ALSO pays off!

Isn’t he 17 or something? This isn’t a signing for this season.
