Player Mohammed Kudus

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He needs rotation to keep up his levels but the drop off to Johnson is ridiculously large and that's why Frank has been hesitant.

It's a tough one for him.

He did name check Muani as being capable on both flanks so maybe we see that eventually.

Good thing you're not in charge then eh
More than happy to abide by the choices our manager makes - as it’s him that has to stand and fall by them. From what I’ve seen so far (very small sample size), I’m struggling to see how Kudus replaces the goal involvements of Johnson. I’ll be fucking delighted if he does though.

Let’s revisit at the end of the season and we’ll have a better idea if this was a good selection policy or not.

He doesn't have to replace the goal involvements of BJ though.

We have won 4/5 games.
We have scored 9 and conceded 1 goal.

Kudus' lack of goal involvements is not hampering our ability to win games.

As I said, a very small sample size, both for criticism and praise.

I’d suggest we need our attackers to score and assist on a regular basis to enjoy any kind of longer term success.

If you, or others, don’t mind an attacker not putting up good numbers, that’s fine. I understand I’m in the minority here and happy with that place.

Edit - trust me, nobody will be happier than I will be if I’ve got to row back on this at seasons end. If or when Kudus starts showing regular end product, I’ll be rushing in here to say my very early thoughts were wrong.

Johnson takes away the goal involvement of others by being outright useless outside of 2 yard tap ins.

It’s so funny that people act like Johnson’s goals occur in a vacuum and he creates them lol. He scores due to the work of footballers like Kudus doing 90% of the work.

He doesn’t need to replace his goals because his actions create them for others and in general make us more stable as a team because he can shield the ball and progress it.

So funny to me how you can’t see this. It’s why teams like Spain are so dominant and successful, having teams of players comfortable in possession and able to protect it.

Johnson is a super sub. Hes not a 90 min footballer and I’m so glad Frank sees this. Maybe Wales will see it too soon. Guy is absolutely useless at 99% of the sport.

His ineffectual presence allowing teams to double up on the other wide forward is an absolute hindrance. You really do not understand the game if you think a player scoring a goal every other game whose overall game sees you losing 22 odd games as a result of how the team is set up to insure his goals is an asset that needs replacing.

This is the gibberish atomisation and reductive statistical reading of soccer that's dazzled the simple. Teams dont replace players goals, be they Kane or Johnson. Its bollocks . 🙄

Teams are a unit that mitigates for differing assets and weaknesses. What the hells happened to supporters. They need to go back to watching live games in person, at any level because its clear they are being mislead by the data industry thats grown up around football the Moneyball enchantment (its not Baseball). Players are not their 'numbers' That Postecoglou side, more than addressed Kane's 'goals' but fuck me if it didn't totally collapse without his presence defending set peices into the box, the goals and assists column won't show it mind because they are enslaved to utterly fake metrics narrative.

Sorry but he's getting away with it. Burnley game aside he's done fuck all. Head down poor decision making doesn't release the ball. Yeah he can hold the ball and is strong puts in the occasional good ball but so far not doing enough for me.

He's played too much football the last six weeks both international and domestic ditto Sarr. The squad despite our spending needs more quality..I just hope post Levy the board recognise this.

Looked much better in the second half, possibly due to Kadioglu eventually tiring out a bit.

Even during his not-so-great stretches does he offer more threat than pretty much any other attacker in the team though, regardless of how many goals or assists he will finish the season with.

He was shit it's just his shit is less shit than johnsons shit. So many times players make runs past him he has the chance to play people through but chooses to hold on to the ball. Puts in a good cross when he's not holding on to it for too long other than that meh.
