He wins duels and can retain the ball against pressure. Those are attributes we sorely lack without him, especially without Udogie or Bergvall as well.

I honestly suspect there's a rebound/stiffness issue with the divideable retracting pitch.
Madrid, who now have a similar retractable pitch system, is also struggling with injuries.

Something certainly isn’t right.
There’s far too many injuries to be coincidental.
I've been questioning the surface a long time, myself.
The stadium is great, and the pitch system does allow for more revenue to be generated - which per the accounts flows back into THFC (though not necessarily into the squad).
But there's a long history of artificial surfaces creating issues in sport, from track to NFL to horse racing.
The Spurs/Madrid pitches aren't artificial surfaces, but they are artificial systems with the pitch laid in tubs on rails and arms and the stiffness/rebound will definitely be different than a natural pitch. And it will also likely be much more variable across the pitch depending on where a certain footfall is in relation to a support.
