Again, im replying to a question. Not your question mind, you seem to love chasing me around.

Think your starting to love me as much as you do Ange
Put him on ignore.
Doesn't add anything of any value and wastes your time quoting you.
He'll probably quote me. I won't have a fucking clue.

Been awful for 4 years. And never what you'd describe as "good". But yeah the longterm injuries to first 11 players is just horrendous. And Vic has been playing through a hernia for most of the season. Wtf did we do as a club to deserve this curse?

Where did you get those stats from btw?

Gemini pulled them together so they could be complete arse. Having said that they definitely feel plausible.

Newcastle had a pretty bad run last year for a while but nothing like what we've had last three years.

But it goes back to Conte and Mourinho too. No wonder there's conspiracy theories about the Stadium but it's all types - soft tissue and collision injuries so.. it's just been ridiculously bad luck - although questions about rehabbing have to be asked.
Maybe, but I think you have to take into account the injury types before we can blame the rehab.

Ligaments are notoriously difficult to predict recovery time, and we've suffered quite a few of them (Madison, Bentancur & Odobert to name a few), then you have Kulusevski with what I believe is an extremely rare injury. I can't really find EXACTLY what Solanke's ankle injury was, but he described it himself as being very complicated. Then we have not one but 2 players concussed in the same match! Has this ever happened to any other team?

I wouldn't necessarily get shot of our medical team, I'd add to it with a feckin Witch Doctor! Some of the injuries possibly could have been managed better, but we're most definitely cursed.

Yeah all these changes in a medical department is a major problem.. started by Postecoglou... he rocked up with no fitness staff and implemented a high press strategy and our players dropped like flies for 2 seasons straight, now the department is fucked.

De Zerbi has bought in 2 staff members, guess what one of them is....a fitness coach because recovery for top athletes is paramount to their well being and performance.

Usually at top level sports a medical department works alongside a coaching team lead by the fitness coach of that team because there are multiple ways to do things.

Postecoglou rocked up with no one and we've been fucked since.

Well I think language partly plays a big part there. Although it is definitely also culture.

So I guess De Zerbi has bought an Italian with him. As Conte would have. Poch’s team were all Spanish speaking.
Not sure who Jose likes to work with?

But Ange definitely didn’t come from the same “elite” background most European coaches are used to where you often work with a team regularly.
I think Ange did end up taking his staff to Forest with him(?) so it showed he had picked up that aspect of top level European football coaching.

Although it’s telling he clashed so massively with the head of medicine at spurs who had worked with numerous top level managers previously.
They really didn’t see eye to eye.

Yeah tend to agree. The collision injury stuff is just incredible bad luck. The Kulu and Solanke injuries were just bizarre stuff.

Geoff Scott was pushed out in the summer of 2024.
In December 2024, his replacement gave the OK for VdV and Romero to both start against Chelsea when absolutely nobody expected it.
Romero lasted 15 minutes. VdV was off on 79 minutes.
Both missed subsequent games.

VdV missed a subsequent 13 games over 51 days.
Romero missed 20 games over 83 days.
33 games lost because a fucktard cunt rushed them back out of desperation.

Nothing of this scale of first choice players being injured for such long periods happened prior to last season. Something over the past couple of seasons has changed.
It's been happening for YEARS mate .. .

Kulu is the odd one. Such a strange injury. I think he walked off the pitch?
Solanke’s one seemed at the time to be a typical overuse injury. But out for months and definitely not back to his former level yet.
Maddison the “typical” football injury.
But you know up front he’s out for a long time.
That's the thing.... As far as I can remember, we haven't had the type of mid-game injury that's accompanied by a blood curdling scream of agony from the player with a bone jutting through their leg...
Most of our injuries have been in training , or the player in question has walked off the pitch...
It's the innocuous ones that seem to drag on...
That would suggest missed diagnosis as to the severity and extent of an injury ..

Not getting in adequate cover for that central creative midfield position was a massive oversight.
Gibbs white was the big one. Almost 2700 league minutes played for Forest.
We are crying out for that level of consistency.
MGW would've lasted 25 minutes if yes come here, and been out til NEXT CHRISTMAS!

weird, cos he's managed to okay all those minutes for Forest whilst being chained to a radiator.... Some feat that!

Who else has had the equivalent of Kudas, Madison, Deki, Solanke and Udogie missing for such a large portion of the season? Having a bunch of fringe players missing that wouldn't get many minutes anyway is irrelevant.

Well those 3 players had some of the most minutes in a team that finished 17th.
Doesn’t really say much for them.

Solanke scored 9 goals and got 3 assists in 2206 minutes.
For context Richarlison has already done that this season in 1500 minutes. And the consensus is he’s a bit shit. Get rid.

Pretty sure Kulu, Solanke and Udogue have all been called shit on numerous match threads. The Kulusevski thread in particular I know I said he was a squad player at best. Not an elite RW and we needed to replace him.
Which we did ;)

Again I don’t really follow other teams. But I find it hard to believe we are the only team who has key players injured during a season.
Even if they are key players who our own fans think are a bit shit.

Think you'll ACTUALLY find they have.. man utd haven't suffered this year quite so badly ... Why? No European football.. without digging Liverpool have lost the best part of their forward line for significant chunks of the season.. man city have suffered with defenders and midfielders out for chunks... Agreed We've suffered more than most... But is it bad luck? Or is there something else playing its part...I'm torn between bad luck , the new pitches and over playing, my sceptical side leans towards the pitches!.. but in reality it's probably a mixture of all three.
We're discussing over the last 3 seasons, rather than just this one.

FYI, the dippers lost Isak since December to his broken leg, whilst Wirtz and Ekitike were only out for a few weeks so no, they haven't lost "the best part of their forward line for significant chunks of the season." Ekitike has played in 43 games, whilst Wirtz has 40 appearances.
The only "key" players they've missed for significant time this season are Isak and Endo, and Endo is debatable as a "key" player.

All of Man City's injuries have been fairly short term, apart from Rodri, Gvardiol (recent broken leg) and Ake. So over the course of the season, they've only really had 2 key players out for extended periods, as Ake is not a key player for them.

There isn't a single team in the Prem, and quite possibly in World Football, that's had to suffer so many key players out for the extended periods we have. Not just this season, but for the last 3!

I think it's the number of players who would rack up decent minutes for us that's the biggest thing.
Those saying Kudus is shit need their fucking eyes checked.
Kulusevski is a player who can be terrible or brilliant depending where he's deployed and how he's asked to play.
Richarlison is probably my starting choice over Solanke, but Richarlison has been injured himself due to being over used when Solanke was out. It's that kind of issue we're having.

I'd prefer Dom..

If the people arguing in the Ange thread start to drag your bickering into other parts of the forum (like some of you are doing here) you're getting sin binned on sight. Boom! Headshot.
