Been at work today so couldn't catch the match.

Can anyone please give an honest summary of Ndombele attitude today? Genuinely interested to know if he was very obviously lazy or just generally poor?

Personally, I'd like to see us get shot of him ASAP and replace with Conte's first choice CM at any cost (it's not my money).

He was poor in his play, lazy in his effort. There is really nothing positive to take from him today and I have been on the defending him side of the debate more often than not.

Usually you can at least point to a few moments of brilliance or a stretch of 10 mins where he was trying but outside of one pass, I don't think there was anything to take from him today and not even a 5 minute stretch of effort or quality.

Considering the opposition could have been his worst performance in a Spurs jersey ever.

Played like the best player in the school playground... until he lost the ball then he was totally invisible, no drive, no will to win the ball back, last chance for me and he blew it, but then again he is on 8 million a year for 4 years so if he wants to do fuck all he can afford to.

Bin him off to the kids..... Pay some work experience lad to watch him do running drills every night after everyone else has gone home.... Make the cunt so miserable that HE terminates his contract.
Indeed - I know people get emotional on here, but suggestions to 'rip up his contract and don't even care if we get any money for him' is not a practical way to run a business, or a football team. We do need to get something for these players if they leave, otherwise everyone is going to moan because we don't have funds for transfers, and the owners won't want to throw their own money in (which of course is their prerogative - too many of our fans seem to want to spend other people's money - well, newsflash, it's up to other people how they spend their money ;) ). So it leaves quite a dilemma - I suspect our senior mgmt will have been hoping for some sparks of promise from the 2nd string today, to at least attract some suitors for people like N'Dombele, Dele and Lo Celso, but obviously that performance will only have damaged their reputations further. So it's difficult - it's not financially practical to give them away / terminate their contracts, and difficult to get a good price for them when they keep putting in such poor performances. So whilst some might say today is a blessing in disguise as it shows Levy what we need, that's not much good if it also hampers our chances of offloading those we don't need... :(

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte told BBC Sport: “Our target was to go to the next round and we won the game. For sure we struggled a lot in the first part of the game and conceded a goal from the set piece.

“We deserve to win because in these type of games you have to show your strength. They defended with 11 players and that’s normal in these games but it is important to find the right solution.”

I like that.

He will be fuming and know who he can and can't rely on.

He will also know and reinforce to Levy/Paratici the deficiencies in the squad.

Then he will wait.

Get 2/3 Players now and okay. If not it will be goodbye. I have no doubt on that.

On the train back. How could a home tie against the genuine minnows of Morecambe end up as such hard work? Dreadful all round for 3/4 of the game. NDombele should never wear the shirt again. He’s clearly talented and yet also clearly too lazy and arrogant to bother making an effort for us. The booing was all at him really - especially as he decided to trudge off slowly when we made the subs. One thing I noticed was, for their goal, at the corner, he decided to fiddle with his gloves and take them off, totally neglecting any defensive duties and leaving us more exposed.

Dele was getting good applause when he went off. He tried hard all game but for whatever reason it wasn’t working out. GLC and Doherty were their usual poor selves.

The difference in energy with Skipp and Lucas was ridiculous - and ridiculous by showing how poor the movement, pace and effort were beforehand.

How the hell are we going to move on 6-8 crap players?!
It’s because he is shit
