Marinakis gives me the impression he would rather lose money thanfaceweight.
I'm in the minority here but I have a feeling he signs a bumper contract at Forest
Imo the vast majority of elite EPL players are pretty robotic. They have everything done for them in the work place, from being told what to wear, what to eat, when to sleep and at what time etc. Any external matters are normally taken care of by the club as well.
If he doubles his wages, he could be convinced. Not sure how you sign another contract with a man that you know will choose not to honour that contract when it suits him.
Marinakis burned that bridge when he started this shit. They are offering him one now so they look better when he rejects it and they have to sell him
A week since he got this wrong...

Can't see it happening now.
It’s a game of chicken. No-one wants to go to court on either side. Forest are trying to engineer us to either pay more or fuck off.I don’t know where this goes.
Forest still haven’t taken legal action. Whether that’s because it’s just a lot of noise to try and put us off, or they don’t actually believe they have a case I’m not sure.
MGW is being a professional which is good, but I think the only way it speeds up as if he kicks up a fuss. If he signs a new deal with no clause then he’s a fool.
They'd have to go beyond what we're offering, reports are that he's on about £80k a week and since we typically double the wage of players when we sign them they'd be no incentive anyway.
The only way he stays is if there's a bumper new contract with a higher release clause but seeing as how they've acted during this saga I can't see him signing a new deal seeing as they're not honouring the clause they promised him.
They've also apparently been trying to tie him down to a new deal all year and he's rejected them, I presume they've been trying to remove this clause and he clearly didn't want it removed - I'd be very surprised if he signed a new deal with them.
Forest haven’t taken legal action ?I don’t know where this goes.

And rightly we’re saying we’ve paid the released clause. Allow him to join us or there will be legal action. It’s a game of chicken. No-one wants to go to court on either side. Forest are trying to engineer us to either pay more or fuck off.
Hope you're right, mate.
Right now his options seem to be "stay on current deal" or "stay on new deal". He's essentially hostage there.
And I don't believe the release clause has made any difference because he would be here by now.
The only people to say they’ve wrote to the premier league are Rob Dorsett and some wannabe ITKs.Forest haven’t taken legal action ?
Well they have reported both us and the agent to the Premier League, which could get us sporting penalties and put us on notice of a legal charge.
The legal charge will be about loss of revenue, which hasn’t happened yet, so they have done everything they can so far.
Ultimately I don’t think either a Premier League hearing or legal case will happen, because we will settle them by increasing our price.
Too late...NF been offering almost double his wages for the last year in an effort to remove clause and he has so far resisted. If he was resolute to hold for that long without caving in I don’t see an early conclusion to this fiasco.
It depends on the wording of the release clause which no-one seems to know about atm.The only people to say they’ve wrote to the premier league are Rob Dorsett and some wannabe ITKs.
I don’t see a world where Levy pays more than an actual release clause for a player.

We’re kind of lucky that Tuchel has reportedly told the players that CL is crucial to being selected for the World Cup next summer. I imagine that’s a big part in MGW’s thinking.Too late...NF been offering almost double his wages for the last year in an effort to remove clause and he has so far resisted. Not the kind of messy football fans dream of coming to their club.
I doubt it. If he wanted high wages, he could have gone to Saudi. He wants to play for a bigger club than Forest which, by the way, will also double his wages.
You really don’t understand the process at all do you.And rightly we’re saying we’ve paid the released clause. Allow him to join us or there will be legal action.
You’re right, it is a game of chicken. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re waiting for him to reject the latest contract before allowing him to go. They’ll find it incredibly hard to prove we came about details illegally, but they can be taken to court by Spurs, MGW, his agents and Wolves.
