All three were silly enough to think they could have a gentleman’s agreement to leave with Levy allegedly

None of Kane. Bale or Modric had release clauses in their contracts- but all left Spurs with Bayern and Real paying appropriate fees to buy the players with all having a "gentleman's agreement" to move when mutually convenient to do so. Modric wanted to move 12 months before he did but it was not convenient to club so he stayed and played well.

So clearly it is a process that works - despite your saying it didnt

I have to add some balance because clearly SOME of you fellas aren't interested in it & are just resulting in calling our owner fat & commiting libel (the usual tiresome response).

The club would not be complaining if it wasn't illegally triggered, we are not "dragging it out", we don't want to sell him & never had unless it was for stupid money. I know you like to think Levy is the worlds best businessman but we think highly of our owners ability to control deals ourselves, and he is much more popular here than Levy is at your place because of his desire to not allow people to shit on the club.

I think the reality of this situation is Levy has tried to pull a slick one & activate a clause without knowing the fine print of the contract. Levy should have contacted the club & done it by the book, it might work at other clubs where you can poach players but as pointed out above, our owner will act if he thinks he's getting shafted. There was no clause reported until a week ago, and within 5 minutes he had a medical booked.

Nobody knows the fine print in the contract, that is why any technical discussions are pointless. But Forest wouldn't be taking it to the courts out of pettiness. This situation is so rare because things are normally done professionally & by the book. In my personal opinion of how this plays out is Spurs will end up withdrawing their bid as the outcome of an illegal is not worth the bother for you. Sorry to dampen on your parade, but Levy has fucked this up. Not Forest.

All this does is crank up the pressure on MGW if/as or when he signs for us...
Not to mention heighten the tensions of hostility hext time we play Forest...

So apart from the obvious Arse, Chelsea, & West Ham, are we supposed to add *Notts. Forest to the growing list of clubs who despise us now!
*Notts. always winds them up!!)

The PL HAD to find 2 suitable replacements for 'random clubs who hate Spurs' quota now that Leicester & Southampton have been relegated!

I imagine Palace will be next in the queue if we DARE come in for either Wharton, Guehi or God forbid, Eze!!

Ah...you were only ever willing to sell him for "stupid money", that's why your club was stupid enough to put a stupid release clause in his contract.

The level of stupidity at Forest is all too evident.

Forest have never, I believe, held up or prevented a transfer before. So the Newcastle deal for Elanga went through. There is something very different that has happened here and although we don't know what these are, there have been some hints. But Forest must think that it's sufficient to warrant this response.
Big difference appears to be Release clause not cited in Elanga deal so may not have been n one ... and Chairman saying he knew nothing of it. As he is in charge of club he should know what his recruitment team were agreeing on n behalf of club.

Not a fault of player ( and release clauses arevnotbunusual) or Spurs that he was not aware of clause in contract. But the Chairman seems to want to take it out on player and Spurd.

I'm extremely confident again that this deal goes through. I think the forest owner is literally gone rogue on his own and is just being stubborn. All sources coming from forest seem to have accepted that they are just delaying the move out of spite

"Very different" as in we activated a release clause and Elanga was an agreed transfer without a release clause being activated in which you probably got over the odds for the player.

Newcastle first approached Forest hoping to get Elanga for 30-40m and ended up paying 55m! Forest were more than happy to sell at that price!

They value MGW close to 100m and were hoping nobody would find out he had a release clause for 60m. Very different circumstances.

For once a topic on which I'm interested in Simon Jordan's thoughts.

He does immediately zoom in on one of the baffling things here: the contract in question is between Gibbs-White and Forest. Spurs cannot have breached an agreement to which they are not a party. Who is Forest mad at here?
But we have broken a rule which every other club including Forest breaks by talking to a player/agent without permission

hed be tying himself down to forest for the best years of his career...not very wise.
Zaha should have taught everyone that's dumb.

I have to wonder if players will think twice about going to Forest after this situation. Fat greek bastard is screwing himself in the longterm

You could say that about is tbf. Levy has upset plenty of players. Didn't sell Modric to Chelsea. Didn't sell Kane to City. Sure there's other instances.

I just don't think every single person who claims to be ITK is a bullshitter. 99% of them are. But to think that there isn't some people who are on a spurs forum, because we are all fans, who are connected, is stupid. Do you think everybody who works at Spurs have no mates in real life and they don't hear bits and pieces?

There isn't any prizes for believing or not believing the info. I make my own mind up by what they say. He was adamant early on that Frank was Ange's replacement for example.

Anyway, whatever. Everyone believes what they want.

Spurs Community is the problem. It's clearly a massive money making scam at this stage.

Massive grey area all that. Personally, I think once the season is over that its fair game and most clubs just accept that players and agents could be talking to other clubs. I think when it takes place during the season when there is games on, thats when its wrong and should be punished.

I heard Arteta had Declan Rice in his house a few weeks before the Europa Conference final. I'll never know for certain how true that is but I'd regard that as tapping up. But talking to players during the transfer window when the season is over is fairly standard. I doubt every club is informing eachother every time. Very standard to check with an agent if a player is interested in a move before approaching the selling club.
