That would be for a court and/or a PL tribunal to decide.

And as has been mentioned, in theory such disclosure would be very difficult to prove.

But it would be a long, ugly slog with some risk that MGW wouldn't be able to play during that period.

It appears very clear MGW isn't willing to take that chance. So he has surrendered, there's nothing else to happen here.
You cave a bit too easily! 😁

The £60m release clause is now public knowledge so he’ll likely be moving irrespective of whether it’s to us or another club.

Worst case scenario he just runs his contract down and Forest get nowt.

Who are you? And why the fuck are you here?

I am Cityground and I am here because I joined the forum and I am now using it without breaking any rules. I'm happy to introduce myself to such a welcoming person as yourself.
So you can't answer the second part of his post? He asked WHY you're here, not what are you doing or how you managed to do it. We can all see that you're posting and you achieved that by joining the bloody forum. It's impolite to be snotty when you've gatecrashed a genteel party like ours.
So, why the fuck are you here?

But they may have some tarmac or block paving going cheap. Or they may have spotted a loose roof tile.

Your loss.

You sound like Mrs B!

She likes to see the good in everyone!

My philosophy is to assume that anyone new you meet will try to shaft you until they prove conclusively otherwise!

We have fun at the breakfast table!!

But it appears that Man City approached Forest and asked how much they wanted for Gibbs-White. Forest did not break the NDA and said £100 million. Man City could have put in a lower bid, but decided not to pursue it at that time. If they had known that there was a release clause and its amount then they would have bid £60 million, but they were not entitled to be told about that clause, even if they had made a successful offer.
Why should we give a shit about what City did or didn't do? They didn't make a formal offer so it's moot. It's simply irrelevant to the fact that the release clause was triggered.

What an effing whiner- with 60m he can easily go buy McAtee and another attacker. He’s only hurting his own reputation right now.

Like I said this morning apart from action by either Spurs or MGW nothing will happen here. Forest have decided his Release Clause does not exist. So unless we up our bid or MGW starts becoming a problem for Forest he is there for at least another 6 months to 2 years.

Probably so, but it will not be to Tottenham, which is all we care about.

Marinakis' childish tantrum has won the day here. We do not live in a world where justice reigns, we live in an anarchic jungle.

So unless we up our bid
Which I cannot imagine Levy doing, and I don't blame him one iota.

We can't be held to ransom like this.

The club are not obliged to sell if the other party has not acted in accordance to the correct procedure.
That's not necessarily true as a matter of law.

Perhaps the Sheriff sent him?

It's quite possible. He could have offered £55 million and been rejected as well. An offer of £60 million would have been accepted. But it appears that in this case, it became known that the existence and content of the clause were revealed to Spurs and Forest quite properly want recompense for it.
Revealed by whom, and where is the evidence?

What you appear to be overlooking here, whether deliberately or not, is that your own board agreed the deal and had allowed MGW to attend a medical at Spurs. The whole thing has only blown up because of your owner, who has made a lot of threats but done sweet FA since making them.

The burden of proof of the accusations sits with Forest. If you are unable to do so and, as a result, are shown to be reneging on a contract agreement, then any recompense will be required to come FROM your club, not go to it.

Your owner's hissy fit may just end up costing your club an awful lot of money, not to mention the reputational damage and future business dealings with other clubs, players and agencies.

In your desperate attempt to try and rip off our club for your own business inadequacies, you're more likely to compound the error and lose substantially more in the long term, which looks the more likely scenario.

The most frustrating part is that the delay will likely also cause delays to any other potential transfer business the club may be working on.
Really shouldn’t.

Club should know likelihood of it going through (based on knowledge of complaints against the process), timespan in which it might go through, and price it might need to go up to to get through.

It will make decision based on that whether to continue, but in likelihood will start working on alternatives in parallel very soon if they don’t think will all happen to our liking quickly.
