The Times have now explained that Forest are accusing Tottenham Hotspur of breaching Premier League Rule T.1, which states that “any club wishing to talk to a player who is still under contract needs the prior written consent of the club the player is contracted to before an approach can be made”.

Any club which breaches the rule by making direct or indirect contact with the player without approaching his club first could face disciplinary action.

However, concerningly for Tottenham, the Premier League have not given a timeline for the conclusion of the Morgan Gibbs-White case, which means that the London side are unaware of how long this could drag on.
