IMO we need to hear of a few outgoings sometime soon - ideal might be Richarlison to Fluminense or Palmeiras or one of other Brazilian sides who got more cash than expected at Club World Cup but not too many other Brazilians available. Rumours of 55m would be ideal, but not sure how realistic that might be

If not Brazil if a few saudi sides interested - but he turned down the Saudi idea last summer.
On the books he is about 20m . Sure we will take anything approaching 40m .

We only went for MGW because Levy thought he was getting a deal. Now that the minmum fee release clause doesn't mean anything because MGW has not done anything to enforce it the deal is dead. Kudus is probably the only first team signing this window because we were 17th only becuse of Ange is what Levy thinks.
I really hope you're not right about us only signing one first team player.

The silence has me fearful that MGW might sign a new contract, in order to get his agent out of breach of the NDA (which spurs are not a party to) between the player and NF.

I think if this impasse is to be resolved MGW needs to push his desire for an exit.

Whether he comes here or not is one thing, but he’s not signing a new contract. He hasn’t signed one for the past year, he’s hardly going to now they are preventing him moving by illegally ignoring the release clause he wanted.

I think you are. I also think that even for PSR, it only counts 100% upfront if the player is home grown

PSR is irrelevant for us anyway. Dianne Abbott could keep us compliant
Ok. This is an area i know, so for basics

For costs of players in squad ratio you include

Players salary
Amortization of players contract (so if you have a player you buy for 60m over 5 years, 12m per year goes against PSR/SCR if player still with you)
Agents fees

For revenue you include pure revenue

So match income, TV income, other commercial revenue etc.
Profit and loss on disposal of assets (so the fee you receive for the sale less the net book value of the player, which is original purchase value less already amortized value, which means academy players don’t have a NBV so no deduction)

Costs as a ratio of revenue (with target of 70% sliding down)

However it is the last bit, profit on disposal of player which is causing the issue with us implementing it, along with pushback from PFA who are calling it a wage cap)

For UEFA calculations of SCR all costs and revenue are for 1 year, with exception of profit or loss on disposal of players which UEFA state you take the average of the previous 3 years (PL want it on season by season basis)

Anything north of £40m would be a really good start to getting the money together to get in a decent replacement forward.

Add in a bit from (finally) selling Gil (maybe 15m) and Solomon (20m) and we are pretty much there ! So easy on paper, just a problem of getting the bids in and contracts done.

This is a really good summary.

I wonder whether it’s not just academy players but also players who have also gone past their original contract also have a Nett Book Value (NBV) of zero and therefore have no deduction eg. Son, Davies, etc. as the transfer fee is written off over the original contract?
