When you go to watch a football match , you dont get a bloke commentating in your ear constantly ( unless you are sitting next to an asshat) so watching Match of the day last night and this morning was a breath of fresh air.

I remember when the 'red button' first came out, for cup games on BBC, you had the option to turn off commentary and just have the crowd noise. So much better I think.
Most people who watch MOTD are not going to very many games, it's meant to be broad as it's meant to accessable

Over a 2/3 hour slot, 5 days a week and LIVE is a damn sight more graft than being a presenter/pundit for a 25minute show once a week and even if it is just being a host, you can't just read cues; you're required to project and uphold your personality and energy yourself throughout.........
Lineker's job per £ per minute / effort must be the biggest doss out there.
