I'm no Enic supporter but I'm not a fan of the petulance that DeZerbi has already shown this season. He has had four yellows and two red cards. What was his problem with Stellini before the Brighton game? Just imagine him when things don't go well on the pitch or some players stop performing, or if he doesn't get the players he wants. Yh... I don't know enough about his previous work to see how he acted when things wasn't going his way.

His team plays some great stuff though, and I think he might be nasty enough to get rid of who he wants, be different to Conte because I think he'll actually want to be here and have a longer term vision.

But I'm not totally sold on anyone now.

I was all in on Nagelsmann.
 
De Zerbi is clearly doing a fabulous job. I simply cannot see him coming to Spurs for a multitude of reasons though:

1. He's already managing the PL. We don't offer the 'glamour' of a step up.
2. Brighton will undoubtedly finish above us and quite possibly in a Europa League spot. You'd think he'd be keen to push on from this season's success and try to do a run in that.
3. Levy might be averse to another fiery Italian after this season's clusterfuck. To be fair, I don't entirely think it's as much of having a 'yes man' in place rather than worrying De Zerbi might blow up. He did make an absolute twat of himself in our most recent match against them.

As an aside, I do wonder how much the Brighton job makes managers look as good as possible. Their recruitment and subsequent squad balance is brilliant, unlike ours.

Slot has not gained the backing of these players just by being straightforward, though. The players like him because they win under him. But, perhaps more than that, they follow him because most of the things he tells them come true.

“Before the game against Marseille (in the Europa Conference League) last season, during training he told his midfielders to play long balls out to the wingers, over the top,” explains Krabbendam. “(Orkun) Kokcu, the midfielder, was so tired of it — he asked: ‘Why do we have to keep playing these long balls?’. He is no hardliner or a particular disciplinarian. He emphasises positivity. When his video analysts put selections of clips together for players to watch, allowing them to scrutinise their own performances, he asks that most of them are positive. In particular, the last one is always positive so the players leave their session feeling good about themselves.

What next for Arne Slot?

That has yet to be decided, but any club that wants a young, forward-thinking coach who prioritises fast, intense, attacking football would be foolish not to take a look.

To be honest I don’t know who the fuck I want now. When I look back at our recent managers, apart from Nuno, I was happy when the appointments were made. And thought Levy had got it right. How were we or Levy to know what cunting dinosaurs Mourino and Conte would turn out to be? My old man who is 94 but usually right about such things reckons we should go for Rogers. Not sure what I think and I still wouldn’t argue with him anyway
 
I mean at the moment between Mason and Rogers it's fucking depressing. Just praying Lewis finally snuffs it in Barbados and his will states to sell us and let us be free. If I have to see his smug little bald cunt assistant destroy our club much more I am going to lose my shit.

Great post.

I like Rodgers but it means little.

I just feel we should be on our short list by now of 2 or 3 managers, who have indicated a willingness to come and who are believed to have the requisite qualities.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Levy is frustrating. I respect the businessman and what he's tried to do with the stadium but it shouldn't even be an issue of who he can work with. He simply shouldn't be any closer to football operations than the owner's box, both for the team's good and his own. His one football job is to hire a DFO. After that he should just get out of the way.

People have been getting eggy as fuck about Potter and Rodgers based on style of play. Frankenstein has Brentford higher than they should be but their football is utter pish. Oh and they rely on amazing recruitment so unsure what he’s make of our approach

Yep. They were already playing good football just couldn’t finish off moves. Although to be fair De Zerbi is getting a lot out of March and Caicedo
 
So. No Poch, Kompany or Nagelsmann. Doubt De Zerbi would come, and don't think we have the players for it. Enrique unlikely. I'm sure Slot is decent but the jump is massive and could end up a car crash. Not sure why Alonso would be a candidate. Mason.. please.

I'm starting to get the feeling we'll try for Ruben Amorim. Does he speak English? Mightn't be the worst idea, though he wouldn't have figured at the top of my list a few weeks ago.
