50 days since Conte left and they only now had an idea of what it would cost to get Slot out of Feyenoord?

What have they been doing?

How have they managed to luck out by being without a manager when an embarrassment of riches were available and they managed to settle on chasing a guy with a contract and not know they could do it?

They deserve every word of criticism.

Yes, Exactly that.
Are you not done defending them yet?
Seriously?
Not having knee-jerk reactions based on Twitter rumors and speculation and defending are two totally different things. If you want to go mental based on the junk you read and your preconceived notions, suit yourself. I prefer to reserve judgment for when the dust settles.

If negotiations, which were said to be at least somewhat advanced, broke down - what was the issue?

There are only two possibilities, either Slot couldn't be convinced or Levy balked at the price to get him.

If it's the former, we're in a shameful state... one of the wealthiest clubs on earth in the biggest league on earth can't convince a man whose been a first team manager for 3 or 4 years to leave the Dutch league.

If it's the latter, what hope do we have that Levy's going to spend to refresh the fossilized squad? If he won't get the right manager over a few million then we're still pinching pennies and continuing in the same direction...

he didnt sack Conte did he? the press reported that Conte walked, i rather flew back to italy and refused to return despite levy still wanting him to see out the season
They have known since the winter that Conte wasn't signing a new contract, and 6 months later we still have no plan. And now we have no DOF either.

LoL we are becoming the joke club which no manager will touch. I just don't know why? Ah wait, yes I think I've figured it out.

So Mr levy, you say Kane is leaving, the transfer budget is 100m and you will have control over that. Oh and i have to play the same shit players who failed again and again so you can try to get some money back on them? Let me see if I stay, I've actually got a decent budget this year, I've got champs league football, I've got a decent squad and I've got my reputation....

I think the issue was that Feyenoord wanted 15m for Slot. That’s a lot for a manager

Exactly.

50 days to get to the point of finding out you can't afford a coach from the Dutch league??

They clearly don't understand the state of the market the club is in.

giving levy a MASSIVE benefit of the doubt slice, perhaps loosing Paratici screwed up what ever new manager plan he had. Maybe pat had his list but now he's gone Danny is going after his own picks and gettin turned down.

Maybe these clowns should just get in a competent none criminal DF first , and let him choose and convince the new coach to come

Levy probably said the transfer budget is 100m if we sell Kane :levylol:

Managers seeming to flee the scene the second they actually get into talks does make me wonder a bit whether selling Kane is in the plans.
You have to wonder.

But I think Tottenham and the management they'd have to work under are getting the reputation of being a place where even a great manager can't succeed.
