No Europe next year. My expectation would be that Kane will only stay if he believes we will be mounting a challenge for the title.

With just 1 game a week and no travel, we should hopefully be able to keep our players fit and healthy.

Makes me think that yet again we will be looking for another proven winner rather than a project manager.

Nah. Whoever comes in will have a handful of targets in mind straight away. It's not like they're in a cocoon until they walk into the bright lights of N17. The managers will do their due diligence too. I wouldn't be surprised if players aren't suggested in negotiations.
I actually believe Mourinho and Conte had casually seen Spurs do well under Poch, knew we had players like Son and Kane, and thought they could make it all work.
I do worry that any new coach will be somewhat oblivious to how bad and error prone some of our squad are.
One reason I'd rather Conte had (wanted to) stayed was that he had figured it out and would have pushed more of them out.

Plays a mix of 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1, and 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1

Not pure tiki taka, can be more direct
Thinking Think GIF by Rodney Dangerfield

These Enrique rumours seem to be gathering pace now

Would fit the club like OJ Simpson’s gloves. He will ask for De Jong and we will give him Ward Prowse and when he can’t get Dier playing Tiki taka he will be sacked in 12-18 months. If he comes I would want him to do well but my gut is this would not work even though he is a good manager.

I don't see it like that.

You don't need 11/16 fantastically talented players as opposed to getting 11/16 players who obviously are very good at what they do, to play at their optimum.

Conte failed to do that and then deflected and defected and good riddance.

Now the future...???

You say that, but Ted Lasso got Richmond playing Total Football in about 3 weeks.

Last season we started well, and going into the World Cup, we were just 2 points behind City in 2nd. That was with Kuluevski, Bissouma, Romero injured and Son in woeful form.

Many of our players progressed into latter stages of World Cup, Conte falling unwell, our fitness coach passing away, Bentencaur injured - and our season fell off a cliff.

We know we have the backbones of a decent squad, capable of hanging in the top 4 club, but we always seem to struggle when rotating players.

What could possibly go wrong with a high profile demanding manager used to winning things with top players?

Different sort of manager to the last 2 (not counting Nuno) better football and not as much of a prick but the underlying issues will be the same. The board will promise him the moon on a stick to get him in, he wont get it, he wont be adaptable, he'll get the arse and go within 18 months. If its him i hope i'm wrong. I think we need someone to come in, start afresh and grow with the team over the next 3 or 4 years. That isnt Luis Enrique imo.

You reap what you sow, Levy and ENIC behave like cunts so people are keeping away from the job, unfortunately the whole club has to suffer.

Unless the majority of Man City's players - for whatever reason - get ruled out for the season or Man City gets 30 points deducted (or relegated) do you seriously believe Kane believes Spurs can challenge Man City for EPL title next season....?
And then: do you really believe Kane believes so, too?
