What Arteta has done at Woolwich is either ingenious in terms of seeing his potential or ingenious because he is a fantastic coach or just bits of good fortune on top of some real insight. No bloody idea.

What's clear is that Pochettino was the right managerial signing for us and that those who have followed have simply been the wring choices for whatever reason.

I think if you look at all clubs it takes time and a bit of good fortune to get it right.

We are no different.

Yes we are different. Edu who is there Sporting Director has been allowed to impose his vision on the club working hand in hand with Arteta. That isn’t going to happen with us until the interfering board fuck off. We could get a Sporting Director like Rangnick or Campos but until they are allowed to totally take control we will go round in circles as we have been.

If we do not end up signing anyone, and Poch does come in - I think the below would certainly provide more exciting football than the turgid shit that is currently being served up.

In the Summer - Udogie replaces Sess, we need to find a 10 year partner for Romero who is left footed, we need to address the Kane, Son & Lloris situation. But it isn't miles off the painful rebuild but we need one voice for the long term to finish the job.

The culture of the club needs to change.

High profile managers to keep big name stars happy. It’s failed badly.

In my mind fans need to accept there is no quick fix. We might get lucky I guess. But even City under Pep took a full season to get going. Klopp and Liverpool- no immediate success.
Woolwich are what, 4 seasons into their project??
We all laughed at trust the process didn’t we??

These days you have a good 7 clubs more than capable of fighting for 4 CL spaces. Levy wanted that ESL for a reason.
He’s not able to invest at the same levels as some of the others in that group.

Strap yourselves in for the ride….. it’s going to be bumpy.

Trouble is even if we buy in to trust the process , Levy doesn’t . BMJ was unceremoniously knifed at the first wobble under his reign , Redknapp was lucky enough to have Bale and Modric and VDV , did a great job nonetheless , Poch pulled up trees for nearly 5 years . They are the only managers with any longevity, I just don’t trust Levy not to get an itchy trigger finger at the first bump in the road . If you remember it was widely accepted Poch was gone if we lost to Villa , luckily Kane got a deflected free kick goal.

Levy will not trust the process in my opinion , unless it is all smooth sailing which is extremely unlikely

There is an Italian manager who’s won a lot in his career and could be leaving his current club for free in the summer. Don’t know much about him, but I heard his nickname is Tony or something like that.

But judging by the “trophies mean more than anything else”” mantra on this place he was justified sacking BMJ for Ramos.

For most ENIC outers that first 3/4 season under Ramos was the highlight of the ENIC reign as we won a trophy. I find it crazy that is what fans hold up that single trophy win as something better than what Poch offered up.

Although I would like Conte to succeed, what excites me about Poch is we would be back to playing an exciting brand of football and having more attack minded players on the pitch rather than 8 defence minded.

I think it would also mean we begin to make moves for players who are exciting and attacking again. We should be in for the likes of Maddison, Mitoma, even Tielemans. Players who improve us and have age on their side.

Bringing in short term managers with the idea of instant success isn't working. The ownership model doesn't allow it.

Nothing worse than seeing links to Poch, I understand a lot of fans have fond memories of his time here (so do I) but it's important to remember he was a nodding yes man who lowered himself to be subservient to Levy/ENIC and in the end they dumped him into the bin like rotten fish without thinking twice.

Poch is a massive loser who had his chance and he blew it. What are we going to hire him for again? So he can be less troublesome to Levy and the board? Not for me, he flopped at PSG and his stock is in the sewer. Whatever the solution is it sure as hell isn't looking backwards.

Think your ire is better directed at Levy/Enic to be honest.

Name me another manager who got us to the CL final. I'll wait.

Not saying it's necessarily a great idea but Poch deserves some fucking respect...and you'll fucking show him some, sunshine. Unless you want me to fart in your general direction.

Ten Hag was such the obvious hire, back in summer 2021. Perfect match in terms of priorities and style, and just what we needed. Still don’t understand how we fucked that up. Something about a bad interview…? Like wtf honestly. Or did HE turn US down.
I'm not sure he would have worked out for us TBH. I just get the feeling United were ready for the re-build and to back him in the market, shifting troublesome players if necessary. We brought a guy in, thinking our squad was set and his magic would do the rest. I still believe the club think it's mostly down to getting the correct manager. Until they change this cycle is going to continue

Edu hung up his boots about 10 years ago, and is clearly close to the team and Arteta, he was also a very decent player.

Fab seems to be quite different, never played at a high level, seems more of a boardroom man. Clearly had some dodgy dealings. I was interested to see what he could do in International markets away from Italy as it felt a bit like going back to the ex for every signing.

Sess, Lloris and maybe even Langlet shouldn't get anywhere near the team
