I honestly don’t think he can, the players don’t seem to be playing for him. If they haven’t bought into his philosophy at this point I don’t see that changing.

Unless they double down and send a message to the players that he’s here to stay, but I don’t see that happening.
Hes got a lot of new players . Im sure it takes time to get things going. But you are right, he will most likely be kicked out.

This thread has been revived after we’ve been knocked out of the fa cup, and people want to bring back poch… who fucked up our best opportunities to actually win it.

Who is to say they wouldn't have climbed a couple of league spots each year if Houghton stayed on? That is all they did after he left, climbed a few places in the league. And whined every season they would do better if they scored more.
Just like Chelsea now.
I work with a few season ticket holders at Brighton, and saw quite a few Houghton games. Chalk and Cheese. The football under Chris was awful - as bad as we have now. Ultra defensive and got found out when players like Dunk got injured or had a wobble. Long ball merchant. Potter got them playing superior football but never had a striker to despatch chances. That club have Ben amazing at unearthing talent but not managed it with a striker since Ulloa in the championship

So levy gets no credit for the team getting that far but it’s his fault we failed at the final hurdle.
What credit should he get?! Didn't he not buy players for 2 years before Poch left?

In terms of revenue and club value we are 9th in the world........

Isn't weird we have the worst winning culture out of all the big 6 clubs? Is that ALL the managers and players fault? No the bucks stops with the boss....

He is not doing enough, I don't want to hear about go karts... I want to hear about how he will support and back the manager 100% to win.

Get Enrique in for 12 months to create a foundation for De Zerbi or even Carrick to come into.

I do think that both of them are the real deal but they won't be moving this summer. Give Enrique stupid money and he'll come here for 12 months. He'll get us a good group of players for either of those two to inherit.

De Zerbi will get bored of finishing 7th with Brighton and will want something new. After seeing what has happened to Potter he might be a bit hesistant to go straight to a high pressure situation and prefer to come here instead for a few years where he can slowly adjust to higher expectations.

Same with Carrick, if Boro get promoted this season but relegated the next or don't get promoted this season and next he might be looking somewhere else as well.

We need to hope that we find the next elite manager who can grow with us. That way they either want to stay longer or they leave us in a good condition for another top manager to be interested in taking over.

Before people get carried away with Carrick and even Kompany, don't forget Scotty Parker and that German bloke who managed Norwich. They too won promotion with good football, the German bloke walked the Championship on two occasions by finishing top. I don't hear anyone calling for them to be manager here.
