It is time

I’d ask H and see if he’d work with Poch. The ideal scenario for me is we keep him and completely rebuild the forwards and midfield around him, which I think Poch could do. Sarr, Gil, Danjuma, Skippy, Kulu etc. Obvs the defence needs work too, starting with a proper partner for Romero. A new “Toby-Jan” for 2023 and beyond. Then there’s the rest of the pitch…

But, would Poch be ruthless enough to sack off Son, Hugo, Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Winks, GLC, NDombele, and more, including players that he loved at some point?

It more than likely will be Pochettino, the board are acutely aware one would imagine of the feel good factor his return would initially bring, but I just really struggle to envisage a situation where it works out for him the second time around.

It’s too soon. Too many players still here that aren’t good enough that he is too attached to to let go immediately.

I could absolutely envisage a situation where we get another season of Hugo for example if Poch returned, and another season of Dier, Davies. Sanchez would probably be kept around.

Then you’d have a scenario where the expectations would be far too high, and if we didn’t almost immediately return to the heights he used to have us at, fans would turn sour again and we’d be sitting here having the same conversation once again.

I don't think I want someone who will make re-build his main focus and ultimately use it as an excuse to make us suffer alot.
Best option, IMHO, someone who can cook with any ingredients and improves the squad as we move forward. Someone with proven winning football ideology.

I went through the list and best option here is Tuchel.

Don't fall for the BHA managers of the world. It is easy to look good managing small clubs with low expectations and a degree of disrespect from opponents who will always play Spurs different than they play BHA.

Make Kane player/manager.

When was the last time we had a player/manager? If ever?

John Cameron (13 April 1872 – 20 April 1935) was a Scottish footballer and manager. He played as a forward for Queen's Park, Everton and Scotland and was noted as an effective goal-maker and goalscorer.

In February 1898 while contracted to play for Everton, Cameron became involved in the movement toward unionisation of footballers in defiance of both League directives and club proposals which resulted in the power of players to seek high earnings. As the League were not willing to negotiate on this point Cameron broke contract with Everton and went to play for Tottenham Hotspur in the Southern Football League, directly because that League did not support the proposal to limit earnings.

In May 1898 Cameron was signed by Frank Brettell as a player for Tottenham Hotspur. When Brettell was offered a better-paid position at Portsmouth and moved there in February 1899, Cameron succeeded Brettell and became player-manager for Tottenham.[5] He enjoyed instant success when, in his first game in charge, Tottenham became the first lower division club ever to come from behind against top flight opposition to win an FA Cup tie, Cameron himself scoring the winning goal against Sunderland.[6] In 1900 he led Tottenham to the Southern Football League title and a year later led them to victory in the 1901 FA Cup Final: after drawing 2–2 with Sheffield United, Tottenham eventually won the replay with Cameron scoring an equaliser in a 3–1 win. As a result, Spurs became the only club outside the English League to win the competition. Under Cameron, the club also finished as a runners-up in the Southern League in 1902 and 1904. Cameron scored 139 goals in 293 appearances, including 43 goals in 111 appearances in the Southern League. He resigned as Tottenham manager in March 1907.

Who do you WANT?

No he wouldn't he couldn't do it when he was here last this is still his team at the core with a few others added in.

I also think people forget just how fucking turgid his last year or so was in charge, how stubborn he was at never changing a system that obviously wasn't working his poor subs and rotation.

We need someone young hungry and attacking minded like Poch was to get the feel good back with the fans.

We all as Spurs fans ain't here to win trophies consistently let's be honest. We would of course fucking love to do so but for most of us we are Spurs because we love to watch good football and that's something this club is famed for.

Our last 3 managers have all been dour boring bastards who play conservative football and it's killing us.

I think we are also gonna have to accept the Son Kane era is done as we will in the summer be needing to replace the heart of the forward line in those two.

Its a huge summer window coming up and again if we are honest we are likely also gonna be without CL football next season seeing as we are intent in fucking that up also.

Whoever is brought in like Poch did first time after we just lost Bale and Modric is gonna have to rebuild the team from the ground, up and we are gonna have to accept it's gonna take a while for them to do so.

Fans will give them more time if the football isn't coma inducing like it has been for like 5 years now

lol Boro were 23rd when he took over and youre unimpressed because a few months later they aren't in the automatic promotion spots.

I guess he's destined to be the next Nathan Jones. Even though the manager who's currently top of the league is new into his managerial career as well but I guess he doesn't count.

Daniel Farke

Scott Parker

Beware

The thing is he did get rid of dead wood at the start of his reign - Adebayor, Kaboul, Townsend, Paulinho, Holtby, Soldado… players who AVB/Timmy had built their teams around but who Poch very rightly saw didn’t have the right attitude or were too inconsistent to take us forward. And then he built up a team with a blend of quality and youth. If he’s completely up for and aware of the need to utterly ruthless again, which will include despatching some of his previous core players, then it could work for me. I’d also want to know he’s over his emotional breakdown post-CL final… which seemed to linger a bit.
