This is the problem with hiring big names such as Jose and Conte, it distorts the fans views, in reality you can't really go from those two to Marco Silva because fan's expectations have now increased.

Which is why I like the idea of us taking a chance on someone young, as it sends a clear message that the board are starting a rebuild and that patience is required.

Just think we have to take a risk.

People get excited by the results of Fulham/Brentford but forget that Conte and Jose both got pelters for playing to get results over the style.

De Zerbi would be a tough sell for some of the bigger name players in the squad, maybe?

Marco Silva has never been a pragmatic manager

He's attack first which is why he's been criticised throughout his career for being too attack minded, this season it looks like he' rectified that a bit.
 


The former Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique would be open to holding talks with Tottenham Hotspur if the club part ways with Antonio Conte. Luis Enrique has been out of work since December, when his departure as the head coach of Spain was announced after their loss on penalties to Morocco in the World Cup’s round of 16. He is interested in a move to the Premier League and would make a swift return to club management if he believed the right job was available.

Luis Enrique is a favoured option for Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, and would tick many of the boxes Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, is looking for, including a commitment to attacking football and a record for promoting youth. There is also a belief that Luis Enrique could have enough pedigree and personality to convince Harry Kane to sign a new deal, with Spurs still optimistic the striker will stay.

Levy will oversee the appointment of Conte’s successor and could be convinced of Luis Enrique’s appeal. Paratici’s scouting ability is highly respected, even if his future is uncertain, with the club expecting to hear the result of his appeal against a 30-month suspension in the next few weeks.
 
One key thing to remember.

We’re one of the best paydays in football. Someone like Enrique will get 10 million or so and not be expected to win anything.

In the minority here but I really like this choice if that’s who we go for
 
I'm tempted by Luis. He plays good football but is also not 100% wedded to one system. He's willing to adapt to what he has. He's not going to play tiki taka if he doesn't have the players for it.

Out of the bigger names he would probably be my favourite.

EDIT: And it would probably be a painful transition back to a more possession based style. But that transition would be painful no matter when we do it. We've had 4 years of mainly defensive, non possession ball. Might as well do it now.
 
I want a manager that's taking a step up not a step down. The latter type will be used to working with high quality players and big budgets. It will always be short lived and the dissilusion sets in quickly. So i'm definitely more for the De Zerbi, Gallardo, Amorin, Glasner, Kompany, Carrick type than Tuchel or Enrique.

Tiki Taka is built around short passing and movement off the ball.

Pierre in particular out of those two can definitely play that style. They wouldn't be expected to do a bunch of dribbling or spray long balls.

It's also based on technical ability, having a good first touch and playing in tight spaces.

I think he would struggle to do that.
