Poch returns which means Kane will sign a new deal.

Would you rather…

Poch returns which means Kane will sign a new deal.

Or

Enrique comes but Kane leaves

Pochettino in that case.

Enrique doesn't fill me with excitement regardless. But imagine a Kane-less Spurs with a monotone manager that relies on possession. We'd basically be a poor version of his Spain team with Morata up top. Or AVB with Soldado.

At least with Pochettino, we'll have Kane to get us through it.

I just feel like Enrique will bore us to death with the ball instead of like now, without it.

Heard the athletic podcast earlier in the week and I agree with Dan kelly. He said the new manager must want to be here, play attacking football and progress the good youngsters we have coming through.
To me that sounds like Pochettino or at least how Pochettino was when he first came to us.
It doesn’t have to be him though, the Brighton manager, the sporting manager or someone like that. I think most fans could take a backward step if we took a longer term view of building something with younger players a more attacking style and a club strategy that everyone is onboard with.
But I fear the club will go for Enrique or tuchel Paratici and ENIC need their head on spikes outside the stadium if this is the case

Just find a progressive manager that wants to develop youth. Actually think there are some nice pieces to work with.

Kulu, Porro, Romero, Skipp, Sarr, Gil, Undogie.

Son, Richarlison, and Bentancur aren't going anywhere.

I would definitely take a backward step for 18 months or so if it meant we had another2.5-3.5 years like we had under Poch. Glorious days as far as I'm concerned. 14-15 to half way through 18-19 were a GREAT time to be a Spurs fan.

Son, Richarlison, and Bentancur aren't going anywhere.
Do you mean no one will take them off our hands or that they are at their limit?

I personally wouldn't want Bentancur to go anywhere. The other 2 I'm ambivalent about to be honest. Sonny has been an absoultely fabtastic servant to our club and has given us multiple moments of delight, but I'm concerned we've seen the best and from here on in he'll be a shadow of his peak. Richy seems like a good lad, but is in danger of becoming the next Ndombele (only in terms of return on investment rather than effort and heart).

I still think that Luis Enrique (Martinez) is our best bet.

He is willing to work with youth. He will implement a attacking style of play that will serve us long term. And he is not shy about calling out bigger names in the locker room. Which I think is what we need.

We need a manager that isn't just going to freeze out fringe players while coddling the stars like Conte. We need someone that is willing to tell the likes of Kane and Son that they need to be the standard bearers that we expect them to be. Luis did this both with Totti and Messi. He won't fear Son or Kane or Lloris.

And even if he only stays for 2-3 years we will benefit just from him implementing a new, much needed change of playing style.
