Villa, Everton and Wolves don't have nearly as many resources as we do though...

unfortunetly we will always get dug out in the press and media about trophies because of our position. The likes of newcastle, everton or Villa (big clubs especially the last 2) who havent won anything since the days of Socrates and Plato wont get it because they dont finish anywhere close to were we have the last decade so nothing is expected of them.

since 2009: 4th,5th,4th,5th, 6th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ,6th, 7th, 4th

then add being the 9th most valuable football club in the world,

The 2nd largest, and newest club stadium in the league

but not won a trophy for 15 years, I wonder if any clubs in the other top european leagues have a similar ailment to us. constant high league finishes, lots of money but never winning a trophy.

I suspect we're unfortunately unique in this

How many English trophies have these teams won? Completely different context.
Why is it different? You're telling me the likes of Atletico and Lille had it easy to win titles? Alteti had to deal with 2 juggernauts of Spanish football, and won 2 titles, one of which was against probably the best Barcelona and Real Madrid sides in history (2014). Lille had a clear vision, Campos and Galtier got what they needed according to their budget, and beat the most expensive side in the world in the process. It can be done, the cunts down the road are proving it, and we've been in a much better position than them for the past 6 years.

Which is an entirely pointless exercise seeing as 1/3rd of them will probably be out the door plus we have about a load of loanees coming back in the summer and a further 3/4 with long term injuries, what is there actually to assess?, a squad playing in a certain style and formation, it's pointless even trying to imprint a new style and philosophy on them especially when the directive is to get top 4, we need wins.

The squad makeup now is going to be very different come Summer time regardless, we don't even know if the star striker is going to stick around, I presume the manager would need know the kind of players coming in and who's going out before you even start to implement a style on the players.
Don't you think that 2 months worth of actually working with the new man could sway that decision?

If we hire JN in the summer, despite him being perceived from the outside as available now, then I'd have though it applies to what you're saying.

If I have misinterpreted your post then my bad.

...........There's a shitload of what my post described going on here over the last couple of weeks though. It's so obvious that narrative 'seeds' are being sewn.

I think this is an entirely fair take, but not clear how it reconciles with what you're contesting above.
I'm just arguing that, in my opinion, there is no good reason why we would be left waiting until the summer to employ a manager that is available now.

If it's JN then we are either waiting because he's not that up for it, bad, or because there would be a fee involved, bad.

If it's someone that we're not going for now because we think we could maybe do better, bad.

Hell, I'm not even sure why we're so set that we can't take a manager from another club now, did Chelsea fuck about in getting Potter? We took Ramos from Sevilla mid-season, Hoddle from Southampton, Redknapp from Portsmouth.

Is there another top level club in the world that loves an interim as much as we do? I get that there's an argument that it gives you time to come to the perfect solution, but when the last stint ended up with us digging around the bargain bin and coming up with Nuno it strongly suggests that this isn't the case with us.

wether it’s Poch or Nag or someone else, we have a squad well suited to attacking football already, a few additions mainly in defence and we’d be a good side again pretty swiftly

Signing

Porro Signing Romero Udogie

Bentancur Bissouma

Richarlison Kulu Son/signing

Kane

Question marks over udogie as he hasn’t kicked a ball over here yet but he looks the real deal so far

That team gets fourth at a canter in my opinion, few decent signings and it pushes for trophies
I’m not sure if Porro and Udogie in a back 4 will work. Maybe if one of Bissouma or Bentancur drop into a back 3 out of possession it could work. But then you might risk being short in midfield.

Well yes; which is why I responded how I originally did.

There ARE possible reasons; that shouldn't be a stretch to one's imagination.

......Or his head is spinning after being dicked by BM and wants to get his head together before committing his future.

....Or that we're not the only club that has approached him already and he has options to consider.

Well it's not written in stone that we can't (as your post depicts), but equally if we're gonna have to spend 20m to buy out a manager then you'd hope he was at least someone near the very top of our list.

Is there another top level club in the world that loves an interim as much as we do?

Christ not "only Spurs"-isms again...... :sigh:

There's been all sorts of caretaker shit going on in the EPL this season alone... Let alone other clubs in other leagues in other seasons.

The Chavs has Huddink x 2, Grant, Di Mateo, Rafa in quick succession.

I get that there's an argument that it gives you time to come to the perfect solution, but when the last stint ended up with us digging around the bargain bin and coming up with Nuno it strongly suggests that this isn't the case with us.

So you did end up playing the ill-fitting Nuno card all along (as also pre-empted in my OG post).

Liverpool seemed to get about 190 points in 2 seasons with exactly that set up. And won a league and CL doing it.
Attacking full backs in a back 4 are not an issue if you have competent centre-backs and midfielders.

I'd need someone to explain what A) has that B( hasn't:

A) Henderson / Fabhino / Wijnaldum.
B) Biss / Skipp / Bentancur

Nothing.

But Liverpool had a better CB pairing and more importantly, an aggressively pressing front 3 that allowed everyone to play higher up the pitch. That helps to mask the defensive deficiencies of Trent.

Nagga nagga na gonna work be here for long anyways.
Fucking fantastic film.
