It should as you say but generally a lot of fans don't really see it that way if the new project gets off to a shaky start.What are the chances of us keeping our next manager for say five years not very high I would think going by our form up to now .

There's only one man who would be guaranteed patience from the fanbase. And us singing his name at games, while a nice tribute, does kind of hamstring us since it can mean that other promising options may chose to not accept the job since they just see the writing on the wall.

Main thing is to put in place the supporting network to back them and move away from the boring defensive football we have had to deal with for the past 4 years.

I think he is absolutely dead set on getting his big move at Real Madrid and considering Ancelotti will be there until 2024, Poch probably thinks that his chance. What if he comes back to Spurs and is a flop, like so many returnees are? Why would Madrid want him then? That's basically his managerial career in tatters when it comes to any top club wanting him again.
We'd either have got him in already or made it clear that he's returning in the summer and not touted around as been having thinking of other managers. The uncertainty when it comes to Poch and Spurs isn't a good look on either the club or him.

Not having a job until 2024 and banking on RM still getting him is a huge risk, not seeing any of the big clubs seriously trying for him now. Can't spend too long out of the game.
Doubt Poch is held in as high esteem by the big clubs around Europe as he is by some on this forum I think we are his level whether he wants the job and the huge task in hand I am not sure .
