He expresses himself so well with carefully chosen words.

I don't know if he's the right choice for us at the minute (then again, I could just as well say that of any of the candidates), but he comes across as an immensely likeable man.
Especially as English is not his first language.
He does have a bit of Pochettino about him too. Capable of turning decent players into better players and realising their maximum potential as Poch did with so many of ours.
I can see why Levy would be attracted. Whether that attraction is mutual is an entirely different matter

I don't know how much of a shambles Ajax are, but I do know that Slot did it with AZ pre-Covid and is doing it again with Feyenoord. Two clubs that are waaay below Ajax and PSV. And got to a European final. So either the stars aligned for him, or he's not a bad manager. My guess is the latter.
Just watched A Slut's team play Roma. Not really impressed, didn't go for it in the home leg. Just playing into Jose's hands.

I’m not always right and unlike you I don’t believe it’s possible to speak definitively. I am, however, led by reason and I am interested in context and that’s what I lead with. Facts and evidence matter. Like it or not, Levy is definitely a problem. As for the rest, allow me to disagree, my man. It's not like you've not been called upon it a zillion times by many a user on here. But you carry on.

People use the “9th richest club” stat to suggest we should be winning trophies in England. But we are the 5th richest club in England. And for most of ENIC’s ownership we’ve been the 6th richest club. We’re not competing for domestic trophies against teams in Germany or Spain who have less money - we’re competing against the very richest clubs in the world. Again, you go back to flipping the money argument according to your need of the moment. Point is, we should and would have competed better if we were run properly. At this point, refusing to acknowledge that ain't even stubbornness, you're way past that. But eh, I forgot, you're the one led by reason.

37 out of 40 trophies in the past decade have been won by teams with more resources than us. You do know resources doesn't just mean money right?

The fact you can’t acknowledge that overwhelming statistic shows your bias. Hum hum, you're talking about bias? What is it they say in France? Oh yeah...l'hospital qui se moque de la charity?

The one criticism I would agree with you on is the Europa league and Conference league where we should have done better when we’ve been involved. We’ve underperformed in those competitions (we’ve often underperformed in domestic cups too when you look at who has knocked us out). Funny how you bracketed the domestic cups...

I have clearly stated the lack of a coherent and appropriate football strategy is a strong and valid critique of Levy. We agree on that. So you agree Levy has made mistakes, big ones, leading to us being in the shite today, mocked by many in the media and at other clubs...but still you support him and want him to stay on as chairman? Confused much? I'll tell you this: you run any other business and make as many mistakes as Baldy has done at Spurs, you wouldn't last a month. He's committed many a sackable offense.

But the FACTS are that we have overperformed relative to your resources in 10 out of the past 12 seasons. That is staggering overachievement. So while we are both frustrated, the results have been better than we should expect most seasons. You know Ricky Gervais? Watch that bit in one of his shows about people mistaking their opinions for facts

To focus on the 3 times in the past decade when a team with less resources has won a trophy shows how ridiculous your argument is. I'm no math wiz, but 30% is not a small share. What's ridiculous is you not understanding that many smaller clubs reached a big final since 2000, some going as far as winning the bloody thing...and we didn't. All the other big teams did, but we didn't. Ah yeah, gotcha, gotta be about resources. Or and luck. Course it is.

A team with less resources than us has never won the league cup in the past decade.
A team with less resources than us has won the FA cup twice in the past decade.
A team with less resources than us had won the league once in the past decade.

The fact this happens so infrequently is all the evidence you need for how tough it is and how far the odds are stacked against us. The league win by Leicester was incredible at the time and everyone agreed it was a historically improbable event.

It’s a shame we haven’t had the luck needed to win a trophy over the past decade… and it’s true that two other teams have had that luck… but on average we have performed significantly better than both of those teams over the past decade. We just haven’t had that bit of luck needed. Here it is...when all else fails, blame it on Lady Luck. It's not Levy and his pisspoor strategic management, it's luck. It's not the shitty managers (picked by Levy) we've had, it's luck. Outrageously bad players? Nah not their fault...bloody luck ain't it.

Kompany is a very intriguing idea. He speaks fantastically, is clearly very intelligent and is still mired in the modern game.

It could go horribly wrong though. Principally because we’re in such a state. I also didn’t realise how much financial backing he had been given at Burnley. So his admitted success has enjoyed a distinct advantage.

If we get Nagelsmann, majority of our fans are going to expect a top 4 finish and challenging because of who he is.

If we go for a Slot, Kompany type manager then we need to accept it may be a couple of seasons of finishing 6th/7th, but if it means we are building on something and creating a proper team then fans need to accept that also. Look at Woolwich with Lego head. They’re reaping the rewards of patience and allowing a manager to build his idea.

Hard to judge on that I agree.

They controlled the middle of the park against a much more expensive Squad but Jose teams always allow that.

I can say for sure that Spurs fans would have been going mad about losing 1-0 away to Feyenoord
Feyenoord reminded me of potter’s Brighton. A lot of huff and puff and moving the ball about until they get to the final third and then they were shit. Makes me wonder if there are quite a few of those managers about.

This keeps on being said but let’s wait and see. If they don’t win the league this season after being 11 points clear and 8 points clear on two separate occasions then he hasn’t really proved anything to me. Especially if next year they then fade away to fighting it out for fourth again with us. I think people are getting ahead of themselves, he’s been massively backed in the transfer market. It isn’t like he’s improved players he’s just bought and bought and bought.

If we can get Nagelsmann we should.
