What makes you think we could get him away from Villa? What's his motivation to take a sideways step to us?
Bit of a silly comment

It's hardly sideways unless he doesn't believe in himself that he'd be able to improve us.

Not sideways at all - when were Villa last in the Champions league, let alone the final......

It's not only about current league positions.

I call it a sideways step because right now there isn't much different between the teams, they are just 4 points behind. Our golden era is over and the future doesn't look great, with Kane on his way out and a ton of failed signings that we have to get rid off, possibly before we can buy other players. Managers don't want to put up with Levy's BS. Villa are a big club that fell away, they won the league much more times than we have and the European cup once, now they are looking to push on and be the one's leading the chasing pack for top 4. If Emery is motivated by money then we could offer him more than Villa but we wouldn't someone coming here just for money

He may see Villa as being on an upward trajectory. And, seeing all the managers who Levy has hired and fired, he'll definitely know Spurs have reached their ceiling under ENIC

Spoken like a true defeatist.

It's just boringly predictable ( and easy) to say that a move from Aston Villa to Spurs would be a sideways move and it's what I would expect from a rival fan.

It wouldn't be a sideways move in the slightest unless you really expect Villa to consistently finish above us in the next 3 years and get further in the cups than us.

Silly reasoning you've given because of the past..... Villa's last trophy was 1996.

But you can come back in 3 years when Villa have performed better than us in the league and the cups in the next few years...but it's not going to happen.

That's a better reason why he might not fancy it.

But Premier league managers are at the top of their profession and I doubt there's one of them that doesn't think they'd improve any team they'd coach.

I'd argue that in terms of potential, and although it doesn't seem like it right now, the ceiling for us is much higher than the ceiling of Villa.

If he wasn't at Villa already and his agent said, you've been offered the same contract by Villa and Spurs.... I think he'd choose Spurs.

I am a realist, we have a ton of problems to sort out.
We aren't much better than VIlla right now and there is no guarantee we will be in the future. You cannot see things without bias. We have sacked a experienced successful manager, the board's treatment of managers is well documented. Without CL football or the transfer money to take us there, there is little incentive for good managers to take the job. For ENIC's model to work the recruitment has to be on point and it's not.

If you think Villa's future is in any way better in potential than ours, then God knows who you voted for to get as our next manager.....as according to you, no manager would touch us with a barge pole

Back in the real world, most managers would see us as an attractive proposition as it's in their DNA to believe that they're better than all the rest and they'd be the one to succeed.

I think Villa are in a chasing pack, I think they will compete with us for the lesser European spots. They have a manager you want and we have no manager. I keep saying it's not just about the manager it's the board that's why we ended with Nuno, we got Conte because he wanted the work but he knew himself this was short term, he didn't even last two seasons here.

if it was really true what you're saying, we would have people lining up for the job, probably would have got them in already.

Newcastle are ok all over park and have an ok manager. Conte left us in this mess. Just get rid of his crew and hire a proper manager to try for top 4. Free hit last 7 games and then real work starts in pre-season. Today was a shambles.

We should have employed a caretaker for the last run of games. Stellini isn’t the right idea. Fucking hell, we could have even got Hodgson in for 10 games. Even that would have been a better idea.

Stellini didn't even shake hands with Bournemouths coaching staff after the game. If he had any self respect, he'd walk in the morning and realise he isn't up for this.
