How far and how fast did his career prospects drop that nobody mentions Oleg Gunnar Solskjaer for Premier League vacancies? I don't seriously offer him name as somebody I think Spurs should hire, but I do think he is flexible enough in his thinking he would find ways to get Spurs playing attractive football again. I think he's a nice guy with a good work ethic who got thrown in the deep end at Manchester United at exactly the wrong time to have that job.

What the board wants is a magical confluence of Paratici bringing them a name who is willing to take the job, who feels like a smart and forward thinking appointment to them, and who will be positively received by the fans and media.

They have no idea or plan of how to actually make that happen though. And note that the strategic thinking ends at the day of the managerial announcement.

Naglesmann and Enrique kinda-sorta deliver on that set of desires, so we'll blunder in that direction for a bit, who knows, maybe one of them is dumb enough to take our money.
So fraudster is behind the push fir Enrique. He hasn’t been in club management for years. Last appointment was with barca so his not exactly used to working with 2nd tier footballers. I don’t get how Pat thinks he would be a good option for us with the players we have. He dies realise that they would have change attitudes and mindset. Still can’t see Enrique doing well here. His spain record isn’t that great considering the talent they have and look at his squad selection.

I haven't changed my mind. It's Gallardo. Toltal rebuild bring in a D.O.F he wants to work with. Flush the squad and don't panic at the first hurdle. Gallardo is our only shot at lightning in a bottle twice.
for me the point of a DoF is he/she selects players that play the way the club wants
the manager can suggest players or type of players, but we need a club way of playing then we pick players and managers/coaches that fit

In the best run clubs, the recruitment team finds the players for a system and recruits a manager/coach that fits those players.

Even better they set the youth system up to develop those players

Yes defo why put it in the hands of someone like paratici. I still get why he was employed when it was known what type of system he buys players for?
What we needed was someone with links to the club. Seems to work fir BM, Ajax and other top clubs. What is parasites history in football? How can determine the future football direction if the club on behalf of the fans.
It prbly makes sense to have a committee of people who run the football side and they can use their knowledge to decide on managers and maybe players. I’d sure feel happier if our manager search was being run by pleat hoddle Ledley and a few others with close links to spurs than parasite. At the least they could offer some advice to levy and Munn.

I would not use Bayern as an argument for hiring former players. Khan is not a good director and is more or less there to be a mouthpiece for Hönnes so that the old man still casts a long shadow despite being retired. And Brazzo is getting a lot of flack.

Why it has worked at Ajax is because they made sure to only hire former players that either had or went on to get the proper skills and experience for their roles. Van der Sar started in their marketing department and had to earn the promotion to CEO.

I have no issue with hiring former players for roles within the club as long as they have the necessary skills and experience. They shouldn't be hired just because they played here at one point.

Why fucking not??

The guy is clearly a serious coaching talent and it’s no longer a world with jobs for the boys when ex players retire.

If we want to try and do something different, maybe we need to have the balls to try something different…

If he was the most talented young player in the French league and topping the scoring charts, people would be excited.
Why can’t that work for the biggest young coaching talent in Europe who is getting results (18 games unbeaten with Reims).

Saying that I was against De Zerbi because he just got here and it all feels a bit gimmicky.

Would be a mád gamble and Paratici surely can’t be discussing anything with anyone right now

So lets see, a guy who's banned from football deals has gone to Switzerland to talk to a manager that has no pro licence and his club had to pay a £22,000 fine every time he managed a game...I'm calling bullshit...
