You clearly don't understand the level of football in Scotland you don't understand the level of football in Australia and you don't understand the level of football and the premier League if you think this.

Having watched football in Scotland and having watched football in Australia I can tell you the level is incredibly low, incredibly low and any Turkey can come along and manage there. I watched Brisbane roar in 2010 and 11 and I can tell you now it was s***.

Why don't we just go and get Steven Gerard he's won the League of rangers or why don't we want Brendan Rogers as he has won even more titles with Celtic?

Let's be honest he's been humiliated in Europe and that's the level he'll be moving up to it won't be a particularly long stay

And the part that gets overlooked in these comparisons is the difference in pay and attitude of the players. The top paid player at Celtic makes $2.2 million per year and the entire payroll is $28 million. What motivates players at that level is the hope of getting to a higher league for a bigger salary. In the Premier League players are already at the top level and the egos and agents and issues are very different. If a Premier League player isn't already highly motivated they probably wouldn't have made it there and/or wouldn't stay for long. The idea that some coach from a lesser league with a big personality is going to inspire Premier League players to do what they didn't for the last three managers is probably not accurate.

yeah, you are probably right. Just hard when you've paid the previous two guys a massive wedge. It's almost like saying we don't think you are as good.

Get the point his C.V. needs to drive the salary though...
 


It’s good to hear him speak openly like this and, under the right circumstances, he’s clearly an excellent manager. He’s also charismatic, and you can see why players would love him.

But we conceded 63 goals last season, placing us 15th in terms of GA.

I’m not convinced that an ultra attacking coach is the right call. There has to be some sort of pragmatism applied.

Agree.

If the club doesn't put in a real, football department with a structure and give it the budget and autonomy to make decisions about the squad, the same shit is going to keep happening.

Whoever the next coach is, all Spurs fans should be watching pretty closely the way the squad is built and is it focused on what is needed or what the club thinks presents value for what they want to spend.
 
I think the silent majority of Spurs fans just want to get back to exciting, attacking football. I would rather the next manager focuses on improving our attacking dimension regardless of the fact that we have one of the worst defenses in the league!

Make me look forward to watching Spurs again! Because the last couple years have been a chore.

If the question is between losing matches 3-2 with a hungry young squad playing an attacking style and losing 1-0 with the current crop who are just riding things outplaying negatively, there's no question what the fans will want to see.

But this is kind of a lower table attitude, a club like Spurs should be able to achieve everything, not be deciding which forms of mediocrity we'd rather settle for... that is laid at the feet of the board
 
I just want rid of Levy, ENIC and all the dross from the squad that's been here far too long now. They're soul destroying.

I just want something different. I don't want a new coach, new kit, new season, but same fucking lazy lumbering dimwits on the pitch yet again with some greedy prick in the stands counting his cash.

Maybe there's some way we can swap the board and players with Brighton without anyone noticing.

Even if we finish 8th or so next season I think most would still appreciate some new younger hungry players coming in playing attacking pressing football. Obviously I like to finish higher but we need some new blood in the team
