Poch was not ‘average’.

Not sure why there’s this revision going on.
He was at Soton. The only revisionism here is from those who think he was highly rated by the fans when he was appointed. If the internet forums are a gauge of the fan base, the majority were underwhelmed. I'll freely admit that I was one of them.

He won us over, became adored and we remember him very fondly for what he delivered in his time with us. But claiming that our fan base saw him as anything other than ordinary, with potential, when we brought him in is just plain wrong.

Was it his second or third season where we started singing his name?

Whilst I agree that there were doubts about Pochettino, 1. he did well at Espanyol and again, did well at Southampton. And 2. what’s one situation got to do with another? Just because Poch did very well after joining from a smaller club, it doesn’t mean Postegluglu will be the same?
Doesn't mean he won't either.

I'm not claiming he'll be the next coming, but there's plenty on here who are trying to convince everyone else that he's a failure before he's even signed for us!

Have you never noticed how long it takes Levy to do a deal .

Yes but does it really matter now wether it’s tomorrow or a week before preseason?
It’s just supporters being impatient.
The appointment should have been made straight away if we could have got who we wanted if not it doesn’t matter as long as the person is appointed before preseason

I’d love to know how detailed the process is for recruiting a manager.

Is the interview over hours, if not days, with the prospective candidate setting out his plan for the whole squad, how he would like them up, how he would develop them, what players he needs etc?

Or is it more touchy feely bollocks, based on good
vibes.

At a guess it went like this imo
1st choice tuchel went to Bayern
2nd choice JN turned us down
3rd choice slot turned us down/played us for a new contract
4th choice AP currently waiting for their end of season to talk to him

our recruitment is based on control of transfers and how willing the new manager will bow to levy's whims

the good ones don't want anything to do with it and who can blame them
