Ange is a complete fraud yet the cult still pine for his bullshit. Getting his nose stuffed in it tonight on Forest forums.
General sentiment.

Yeah he's a good guy that kept relegation fodder in the league well beyond their justification.

Him and Howe were looked upon as the same until the latter proved himself at newcastle. I actually hope Dyche can do a decent job - for him, not that club

Him getting Burnley into Europe was pretty damn remarkable tbh......

Yeah, they were running the club off of a budget that was cheap for a championship club and expecting miracles. didn't have a great final season but they made no effort to help him in the window.

I think he's just unlucky that he gets given the impossible task of managing a club that is skint, and then when new investment comes in, they get rid of him. The transfers available since he left burnley eclipse what he had to work with, and yet their highest finish in the PL is still the season they were relegated with him

[Dyche era - started late Oct 2012] £198m spent / £123m sold = £75m net over 10 seasons
12/13: £2m spent / £8m sold
13/14: £500k spent / £4m sold (promoted to PL)
14/15: £11m spent / £0 sold (relegated)
15/16: £23m spent / £20m sold (promoted to PL)
16/17: £40m spent / £1m sold
17/18: £30m spent / £45m sold
18/19: £30m spent / £5m sold (and this was their season in Europe!)
19/20: £20m spent / £11m sold
20/21: £1m spent / £1.5m sold [ALK Capital takeover in Dec 2020)
21/22: £45m spent / £37m sold (relegated)

[Kompany era] £140m spent / £72m sold = £68m net over 2 seasons
22/23: £40m spent / £70m sold (after relegation)
23/24: £100m+ spent / £2m sold (back in PL)

[Parker era] £170m spent / £130m sold = £40m net over 2 seasons.
24/25: £50m spent / £100m+ sold (after relegation)
25/26: £120m+ spent / £30m sold (back in PL)

It was worse at Everton - I think under Dyche they spent around £85m on 12 players and sold 29 for around £165m, so were around £80m in the black from stripping down the squad.

No doubt at forest Marinakis will point to the £100m+ they've already spent in the summer as a reason for him to not have any funds
