Yeah, we were pretty dogshit for a lot of that decade, including getting relegated and only scraping promotion the following season on the final day.
The 80s we were the definition of a nearly team in the league anyway.

For what a horrible watch the first half was, it pretty much worked overall. We took over the game when it really mattered.
