Add an experienced manager and a few old geezers who've been around the block in the offseason and we'll be much better I think.

Choosing young and relatively inexperienced managers like AVB and Sherwood coach one of the youngest teams in the league the last two years was one of the clubs biggest mistakes. When things go wrong there is no one to look to for the leadership to get things back on track. Last year everyone was able to look to Bale as a leader in terms of performance; that gave us a certain belief that things couldn't go too wrong. But this year there's no experience and our confidence just wilts so rapidly in the face of adversity.

I really think we should have a go for Carles Puyol at seasons end when he becomes free. He'd be an absolute godsend to Vlad and Verts. Much like Naybet was to King. He wouldn't play an awful lot, but he wouldn't let you down. As JDK JDK says, some wise heads with LvG could be just what this squad need.

Wesley Sneijder too? The new VdV? Dreaming maybe...

Anyway, having the youngest squad in the League bodes well.

Look at Liverpool a year older which has shown a benefit this yr including what we miss an older/wiser/experienced leader in Gerrard.
So next two three yrs should show the benefit of experience which would be more influential if we had a strong experienced leader.

Our young players have achieved so much at such an early age that we expect too much from them. We all expect Eriksen to be the focal point of our attack, but he is still only 22 years old. We all expected Lamela to play very well when healthy, but he moved from a foreign country and is still only 22 years old as well. Throughout our team we expect some of our youngest players to be some of our main players. We need to give this team time to "gel" as people say, but more than just playing together, but developing as players. Our team is sooo young.
