Just finished watching this game today... the rather pedestrian Soumare for the energetic impetus of Caqueret who was excellent when he came on. France had numerous good "situations" only to blow the final ball or finish.

Really liked that midfield trio of Tchouameni, Aouar and Caqueret that finished the game, a really nice balance of attributes. Tchouameni has definitely developed on this season for playing every week and looking like a very decent combo of physique and football. Caqueret brings some vim, zipping about, always looking to progress the ball, and Aouar a bit of guile (although it didn't always come off this game).

Price range, club? you seen much of him...

Grealish is absolute quality and one of those rare players that looks like he truly enjoys playing for England.

Is it possible to fit him, Foden and Mount into the same team? It should be but probably would mean no Sterling and Rashford so lack of pace could be an issue.

I'd have Trips above Walker, but otherwise agree.

However you perm it, we're weak in central defence though

Yeah, it's such a far cry from where we could choose between Ferdinand, Terry and Campbell etc. I'm fine with Maguire and Stones as a partnership but an injury to one or both of those and you're suddenly looking a bit of a mess no matter how much talent you have going forward.

ITV pundits trying to pick the best team and we have an embarrassment of riches in midfield and attack.
Defence is gonna be an issue.

Only be a real issue if we don't concentrate enough on our strengths. Even with Maguire our defence is only decent, so for me I would go 4-3-3 whoever we play against personally and try to impose our own strength on teams, which should be in attack.

Of course, Southgate will see it completely differently and will try to stay in games and hope that our strong subs bench will make the difference in games late on.

Against weaker teams Mount in a 2 with Rice, to allow Foden and Grealish to both have a place. Bellingham-Rice IMO should be moulded/bedded in, get as much technique on the pitch as we can.

The sharp runs of Foden and Grealish are enough for non-rapier forwards to use technique for the yard, IMO.

Might be a year soon, but Henderson should have no place, misguided, Phillips is ahead of him for me, by some distance, behind Bellingham and Rice as the base two (or a 6 and 8 for those favouring that shit).

I think the comm in the game was suggesting that ITK is we will go 3 up front.
