I think they are. As long as they have Kante and Mendy, they are the best in the league imo. If one of them is missing, they are below City.

City would have arguably a better side if they had a half decent striker or preferably for them a World Class one. Them not pumping £150m for Kane is the difference between a title and no title. They dominate every game, create chances but lack a guy with a killer instinct, particularly in the biggest games.
I felt at the back end of last season they would win this one. I haven’t seen anything to change my mind.
Having the squad depth of a tesseract helps.
They can simply field 2 top four XIs alone

I don't think you're far wrong actually. There second 11 would definitely be good enough to challenge for a top 6 place.
It was a pretty unambitious appointment Considering Lille had just won the league.
Not sure about that .. City's bench over the last few games is insane, you have guys like Mahrez, Sterling, Gundogan and even De Bruyne often there. Maybe lacking balance wise but in terms of who has the strongest squad options which can come in and change a game I think City win.
I won't get tired of saying this, but considering how comically bad United are, it really puts into prespective the fact that we got humiliated 3-0 at home by them.
Maybe by some distance was hyperbole, but I genuinely think Chelsea have the better squad right now. If and when City bring in a top striker, that will change.

Yeah they have an insane but unbalanced squad at the same time. Not much in terms of left back (the Mendy situation doesn't help..) and CF for example but I don't think I've ever seen a team collect so many very good attacking midfielders/wide players.

Yeah, but usually the pens are scored so it doesn't affect the outcome.
Don't see why a pen should be retaken if the defender encroaches but the attacking team still score......
Retaking the pen only serves to potentially disadvantage the attacking team by creating a second opportunity to miss.
Another Benteke goal this early in the season. If Viera makes him score regularly and Edouard can also grab a few then Palace should not have to worry about a relegation battle this year.
