They're somehow worse than they were under Eric. This formation Amorim is obsessed with just doesn't suit their players. I can genuinely see them in a relegation battle next season.

No chance on relegation, but on the formation obsession, 100%. Sound familiar.

I would actually be more worried about us and relegation if we keep Postecoglou and go for someone, without PL experience, player or manager.

West Ham’s midfield and defence is mostly shit but Potter is slowly getting West Ham into a well drilled side. Very good performance today against Liverpool.

A massive difference and I bet you none were bought for money we have not shelled out for some right crap.

But it's also about coaching and philosophy.
Not really sure of your point here but for informational purposes:
Joe Linton - 43.50 Euro
Bruno Guimaraes - 42.10 Euro
Sandro Tonali - 58.90 Euro

IIRC Joe and Sandro's were release clauses. Joe was purchased as a striker hence the 'big money' and Sandro was a CL-money push. But Newcastle paid decent money for them all but nothing really crazy.

You made my point. We spend money but poorly number one. We also fail to make players better. The worst bit.

I figured you had made your point...I just didn't understand what it was...and wanted to make my own point about talented, reasonably price players given time to blossom. I bet you their fans feel more attached to Joelinton and Bruno than we do
We spend money but poorly number one
Yes, I've always said we have spent enough money to be better than we have been and achieve more than we have...but it's been poorly and untimely spent so that it looks underfunded. Each one of those players in Newcastle's MF would have received moans from supporters here if those xfers were for us...each one...but here we are, they have the best MF in the PL.
We also fail to make players better. The worst bit.
Welp, don't really know what you mean here. If we are going to continue to buy youngsters at low prices then it is incumbent on us to improves/develop them, yes. But if we are spending 50M on players then we should be expecting some level of finished product. But we've not really had a plan to stick to...under-funded project mgr, chequebook mgr, Nuno, another defensive chequebook manager, and finally whatever the hell Ange is. Hard to develop players and assess their progress with this recent history.
