I honestly think McTominay was/is a decent player who was being badly misused at United. He's an attacking type midfielder with drive and a knack for goals - not a defensive mid or a centre back. He's limited but 11 goals isn't shocking stuff, he got 7 for United once.

He's being used right in a functional side with a functional manager. It's no miracle.

He was being mis-used, and he is decent. But that's it. If he came back to the PL he wouldn't do half as well as he is doing currently in Italy. But as a defensive midfielder, where he has spent most of his career, he was genuinely shocking.

He has made some good interventions but nearly let Celtic in by taking the ball out of defence then giving it away. He is good on the ball, maybe he lacks the speed over 10 yards to be a top player though?
