Defoe playing for Sunderland. Nature is healing.Sunderland are set to announce the signing of Jermain Defoe on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Other than a brief period when did barca not spend big on players? Their 3 best players are from the youth team.I always used to respect Barca but they have absolutely sold their soul in the past 5 years. Aubameyang is such a typical modern Barca signing. They went from Unicef on their shirt to Qatar Airways, went from not really ever spending big and preferring to promote youth splashing cash on aging players. Ever since they bought Suarez I feel like they've been different, then you've got a line of players who are just odd signings year on year. Turan, Paulinho, Coutinho, Dembele, Vidal, Griezmann, Braithwaite, Pjanic, Aguero, Depay, Torres and Aubameyang is the cherry on top.. It honestly seems like they're approaching football like it's FIFA, no real plan. Just big names and big wages to guys who don't deserve it, not a good idea when you're broke.
That identity was for a relatively short period of time, they were always big spenders and were after Beckham etc. Prior to that run.I agree they're just Madrid in different colour shirts. There was a period when they seemed to have a unique identity, La Masia, Tiki-Taka and a defined Barca style of player. Now they are just like any super-rich financially doped club.
Maybe it's since Cruyff passed, i have to think he would have been against many of the players and changes at the club over the last 5 years.
Scottish football will never be quite the same again.
