Rumour has it last summer Staveley promised him a massive payrise in line with his status; but when she, left Paul Mitchell tore up the new contract that was on the table and said there was no need cos he still had 3 years left.

NC fucked this..... He'd be foolish to re-sign now.

Wasn’t aware of that. In this situation it’s best to set the price (£130m I think would be fair) and make it clear Liverpool need to meet the figure and on the other side have 2-3 top signings ready to improve the squad so to limit the damage. A sale should also help their problematic PSR. It’s a bad situation but with good leadership can be fixed.

Could get nasty.

Remember Kane when Levy wanted £200m and Man City were reportedly wanted to offer £130m but the media speculation was it would be done for £160m. Then City offered a huge lowball £100m plus add ons.

Isak isn’t Kane level but the Geordies should be at least getting to the £130-140m mark I think. If Liverpool offer only £100m then hope the player being angry can force it I suspect this will fail as Newcastle would look weak.

Isak is an absolute wnaker.

If I was a Newcastle fan I would see his stance as betrayal.

He will get absolute dog's abuse whether he stays or goes. I said the same of Kane, whi actually had more cause.

3 years on his contract to go. Tosser. Newcastle should hold tight for 150 million quid, but it shows the twats on here just how hard it cam be to both buy and keep so-called top players.

Every player has a price but I don’t like how Liverpool appear to have unsettled him in the apparent hope of a cheaper deal, it’s like Kane and City with us. Kane on a 3 year deal has been the top goalscorer in the league and top assister as well in the league and the expected £150-160m instead was £100m with add ons, City tried to lowball and get Kane to force the move and it appears Liverpool are doing the same with Isak.

Lol give it a rest.

Newcastle are fucking stuck. They have huge PSR issues and they can't afford to give him the deserved wage hike. He is in his prime years now and doesn't want to waste it chasing top 4 and league cups - good for him. Kane made a huge mistake as an individual spending his prime physical years not winning anything. Isak doesn't owe Newcastle shit, they will make a huge profit on him and he banged in the goals.

It's very hard to keep top players when you have to convince them to stay in the shithole that is Newcastle and you are massively handicapped by PSR meaning you can't pay them huge money, yes. Less so when you're a London club and PSR is no obstacle.

That’s fine but pay the money. Isak isn’t what Kane was worth but he should be at least £130m, if Liverpool offered a £100m and that’s it then of course they will reject it.

Isak and his agent are bang out of order. 3 years left on his contract.

They should tell him to fcuk off as in he ain't going anywhere.

Whether they can do as Levy did remains to be seen.

They should turn down the bids like we did and make him stay another year. Sometimes it sets a better precedent.

Do Saudi really get pushed around like this if they are still invested mentally in the club. I would think not.

Course he is. How dare a 25 year old elite striker not want to waste years more of his career at Newcastle rather than going and playing in the biggest games - what scum. And the club he plays for would only benefit to the tune of 100m+ - what an evil person!

He's done shit loads for them and wants his move for way more pay and way more success. Good for him. Football is ruthless and the clubs don't give a fuck about the players when it suits.

In a situation like that I always think you set the price. £150m or whatever the amount you think and not a penny below and he is yours and also the deadline is say two weeks so we have time to spend the money. Put up or shut up and make it clear to the club and player then all the pressure is on them. If the club don’t pay and the player still acts up take him to court and make him play int the reserves.

With Kane we didn’t stop him leaving, City wouldn’t pay the money and tried to lowball.
