God, how many wide attackers do Chelsea want?

You amortise the cost of an asset over it's lifetime. When they get rid of an asset (havertz) they don't have it anymore the value is realised. If he has 30m amortized left it's fee minus amortized 65m-30m=35m is added to the books.

It's why selling kids /free transfers is good for your ffp as the fee all revenue no need to take amortized cost off.

Chelsea are banking on ffp going away or Saudis always buying their players otherwise they are kicking the issues on a few years only
The Super League will save their ass...

Like cockroaches, They never die...

Unless you stamp on them

Brighton only sign class players. Amazing scouting

People said that of Southampton for a while too.

The fact that Cucurella bombed and they have/had the likes of Lallana, Maupay,, Welbeck & a 37yr old MIlner on the books ought to suggest to some extent that it's a system of play that's the star here........

That's not to say they haven't picked up some gems; but one should be cautious buying from them through fear of the proverbial Lovrens, Shneiderlins, Lamberts etc.

That squad makes no more sense to me than it did six months ago.

Still feels like they will go exactly as far as a now 38-year-old Thiago Silva can carry them.

The Nkunku injury really hurts them too, they've been desperate for that kind of focal point.

I'd take the players they've sold this summer over the player's they've bought, age notwithstanding.

That midfield and defence is perfectly suited to a Poch team now. Legs and a bit of class in the midfield, two flying wing-backs with athleticism, centre-backs I can't really speak for Disasi but Colwill is the best CB I've seen England produce in a long while talent wise.

Their forwards are shit. Load of dribblers with little end product who won't guarantee you goals. I think unless Jackson massively exceeds expectations and Mudryk makes big strides they will struggle to score but boss a lot of teams physically. Nkunku coming back and staying fit could be the decider. Reece James staying fit as well, guy is ridiculous.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them buy Vlahovic or Muani before the window closes.

I didn't even blink when I saw Neymar to Saudi announced. Wouldn't have expected anything else from him, so hadn't even read an article on the transfer. But just saw...2.5m a week. What the actual fuck.

This broke my brain. It's been used as a hyperbole many times in recent years, but football is now officially broken imho. Something's gotta give.

A dream come true.

Neymar Jr: "Al-Hilal is a huge club with fantastic fans and it's the best club in Asia. It all makes me feel like it's the right decision for me, at the right time, with the right club .

See, you're - unintentionally - further proving my point. This could 100% both be an actual quote or something you've made up for shits and giggles!

Who even knows anymore. Nobody in their right fucking mind would say those words (with a straight face), and yet in 2023 someone might anyway. Even wages aside when footballers becomes this much of a cunt group of individuals, this is getting dangerously close to being too far removed from the game (and the players) I fell in love with as a kid.
