Transfer Other Team Transfers

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My only like of Liverpool buying Wirtz, Fringpong, Kerkez, Gheui and maybe Isak and City buying Cherki, Reijders, Alt Nori and the like is that is means Woolwich have a low chance of the prem even if they buy Sesko, Zumbermeni and a few others.

They has their chance in 2023/24, that's gone now...dont think they'll ever get it again.

Wirtz
Kerkez
Frimpong
Guehi

They brought in 4 major players before preseason. One od the best transer windows I’ve seen.
I guess being Champions also helps lure players in....
Then again.... WE'RE the Champions of Europe'ish... THAT should help, Shirley?

We are the exact opposite. We will still be fucking about in the window right up until the window closes several games into the season.

We are the example of how not to do it. But yet ou Chairman still claims he wants to win titles.

Apologists, people who try and claim that signing players isn't easy, and Mr Levy if you are watching take fucking note.
Don't you know by now, the Transfer window doesn't 'close'.... it SLAMS shut!

Basic schoolboy error!🙄

Looking at Liverpool situation of going from strength to strength....

It could have easily been us in this position.

Both clubs at same place 10 yrs back. Bit by bit , Liverpool made series of right choices and we made series of wrong choices. Its just infuriating to see gap is only widening more here. At the heart of this issue is, Spurs board unwillingness to pay the wages thats needed to secure the signings....whether its Mane from 2015 or Luis Diaz or what not....our unwilliness to go the distance and doing the right deal has cost us

Which makes it even more baffling when levy comes out with statements that he wants to win the league.

And they could easily rake in 100m plus in transfer fees on players they could potentially sell. Robertson, quansah, jota, nunez and harvey elliot and then make one more big purchase up front.
They also know they can sell VVD and Salah to the Saudis for 50-70mil each next summer. That's a huge bag of cash coming in probably in one go...and a big chunk of wages off the books. That buys you Isak easy.

Even the crazy money they paid for Wirtz, they'll get that back in no time via shirt & merch sales, new German sponsors etc.

It’s that, but much more than that. It’s a catalogue of ineptitude, and mismanagement of major personnel and structural aspects of the club.

Levy had Michael Edwards (CEO) and Ian Graham (analyst), the masterminds of Liverpool’s rise, at Spurs at the same time and then hired a blagger “manager” in Redknapp who had zero interest in analytics, data etc and just wanted players he knew or who Tim Sherwood/Les Ferdinand recommended.

There has been some ad hock smart/good choices by Levy over the years, but since about 2018 it’s just been a cluster fuck of oversight and decision making within all facets of the football club, coaches, managers, recruitment personnel, recruitment systems, a mish mash of strategies all overlapping, lack of strategy etc etc.

Robertsons legs have gone. The other 2 are not worth the money
Robertson is only 31, he's no cripple. Plus what he now lacks in top pace, he makes up for in game intelligence, determination & leadership. Man is a winner of proper things, how many of them in our squad?

Quansah will do very well at Bayer, in a couple years he's a much better CB than Dragusin, maybe even Danso.

Elliott been mentored by Salah, plus managed by Klopp and Slot. So.ehow I have higher hopes for he than Odobert.

Look, I ain't saying they're world beaters and we should sign them, but let's not pretend they're shit/not an upgrade on what we got currently.

I'm hearing that Liverpool are in for Isak now as well.

Honestly, of course Newcastle would be insane to sell him, but if they did I would say to them, fine, pay us what you did for Wirtz + £20 million.

Is Isak worth that much? Maybe not, but he's a tremendous player and almost as important to them as Kane was to us IMO.
