No, of course not, but it is funny to me how nowadays, and specifically post Haaland to City, some fans will now bring up agent fees, wages and anything else possible to bolster the final sum they can say that club spent.
And whilst it’s not like those figures are pulled from nowhere, and of course these players and agents aren’t working for free, but it’s funny how suddenly now they matter. No one was running around in 2009 going “wow can’t believe Real spent £150m on Ronaldo”. Or more recently, in 2018, were you sitting around going “Van Dijk is good, but they spent £100m on him, so he better be”. I doubt it.

The reality of quoting the full figure is that people think a £50m transfer is £50m, so a club should just go for a Haaland over a Richarlison. They don't add up that some players are signed (fee+contract) for more than PIF paid for Newcastle

A sensible transfer fee. At last. All these £50m transfers for fairly average or just above average PL players this window are all just a bit silly.
