But he’s a £50m player easily with a long contract (before on lower wages). That £30m City saved his agent has secured him (probably by disclosing how much Pool, Utd, Chelsea have said they’ll pay summer).
 
Mateta will be 29 in June, and has had a pedestrian career except the last 2 calendar years he had under Glasner.

Assuming that he's not leaving for peanuts, this is a no-brainer both for him and for Palace.

Agree 100%.

Why keep an unhappy player, who probably won't repeat his last 12 months.

Johnson really must be shaking his head at what's going on around him, but they have a young squad.

An up and coming young manager might steady the ship once Glasner leaves but they could also drop like a stone if they don't win a gane soon.
 
They apparently paid 7 M euros for Ozcan this summer as well.

So that's 28 M euros for a 28 yr old Abraham who already did his ACL.

Quite an overpay for me.
